At times, Rings of Fate feels like it's literally busting at the seams of the DS. It's a solid adventure that's able to balance out some flaws with compelling gameplay and skilled craftsmanship overall. Chalk up one more system successfully conquered by Final Fantasy.
Pros: Good variety of combat moves; topnotch overall craftsmanship; impressive DS voice and cinemas.
Cons: Using diagonal directional controls to move forward makes precision running and jumping dicey; casting magic against attackers is tough; characters and style look juvenile.
