Five Ways to Improve Upon the Xbox 360

"When you take a look back at the original Xbox, it was far from a runaway success when it came to console sales. However, it managed to dig itself into the console marketplace by introducing gamers to the vast universe of Halo and the widely successful Xbox Live service. Microsoft was able to shift the foundation of their online service onto the Xbox 360 and into a social experience that its main competitors simply couldn’t match." - Unknown Fox (Next-Gen, Xbox 360)

1. Blu-ray.
2. Free online service.
3. Way more exclusives.
4. Continued third party support.

And less heat... that would be a good 5 for me.

Thing is with Xbox3 and Blu-ray, its only using it as a storage medium. Hopefully it will have HD movie playback, but as is with installs onto the HDD, they may as well be using DVDs.

Also have to ask what kind of 3rd party support has MS given? As far as I can tell "support" for them has amounted to "don't put your game on other platforms for a while if never." They sold - sold with a renewable license - an indie dev program which let anyone make and publish Minecraft clones and the like on XBL.

5. Better exclusives

free online play, more exclusives and most importantly don't forget about the people who made the Xbox brand what it is, which they have the last few years with their push for the casual crowd imo.

For me, I've got to say more rewards for being an xbox live member. That's been my main grip over the past few years.
And more games like alan wake would be nice as well as resurrecting some of rare's old ip's.

But I imagine most of ms's focus is probably on the next xbox right now.

I think free online play is a what everyone wants. I'd add bringing the focus back to core gamers, new core IPs, more exclusives and when I say exclusives I mean games that can ONLY be played on Xbox forever not just a few weeks, and a PS+ like service.

If it were JUST free online, I'd be far more likely to buy one.
