Gears of War: Judgment Review | Paste

Paste: "Some might say that Cliff Bleszinski leaving Epic Games caused Gears to lose a little of its edge, or that Epic’s farming out of Judgment to the studio People Can Fly gave it a different feel, or that a better Gears of War game will come in the next Xbox console generation. All I can say is that if another Gears game comes down the pipeline, I hope it’s nothing like this. I miss my big, sweeping set-pieces and my silly one-liners. I don’t want tiny, repetitive skirmishes, boring turret sequences, and score screens every few minutes. I don’t care about my head-shot count, I care about the Locust Queen. I just want to escape to Sera for a while, and I want the stakes to be high. And while I’m dreaming, can the next Gears game star Sam Byrne, please?" (Gears of War Judgment, Xbox 360) 5/10
