Are Indie Games Enough to Save the PlayStation Vita?

Push Square: "Sony has spent the past couple of months really pushing the PlayStation Vita as a haven for cult games. In the last few days alone, we’ve seen Limbo, The Walking Dead, and Divekick added to the platform’s release schedule, while Thomas Was Alone, Lone Survivor, and the brilliantly brutal Hotline Miami are all also on their way. But with the system’s sales still reportedly struggling in western territories, is Sony’s burgeoning indie initiative enough to drag the platform out of the gutter?" (PS Vita)

Once the PS4 comes out, I am more than certain that Sony will see a rise in PS Vita sales

Sony has a few large titles announced and ready to go later in the year. The true test will be E3 (2013). The Vita NEEDS some system sellers. Doesn't matter if they are exclusive or not, but the platform needs games people WANT to play on-the-go.

For me, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, Grand Theft Auto, and Final Fantasy come to mind as series gamers (myself included) would like to see on the platform.

Its unfortunate that the sales of the vita are struggling. I think its a wonderful piece of hardware personally but then again this is comngi from someone who hasnt thrown the money down to by one.

Indie games on XBLA have kept 360 interesting over the past few years in absence of a lot of AAA retail releases. I think the Vita will be okay, especially since indie games are becoming more and more relevant.

Well I can't wait for Unity support for the vita, I will be sure to port over my projects and learn a little bit about console hardware.

Funnily enough I bought one yesterday, I wanted to take advantage of the offers for the Vita on PS+ and I'm sure i't will play it's part when the PS4 is released, I don't think anyone should be concerned about the Vita's future it's just getting warmed up.

Vita needs some exclusive Big Guns which should be only playable on Vita: Gran Turismo Vita, Metal Gear Vita, God Of War Vita, Final Fantasy Vita, Infamous Vita, Grand Theft Auto Vita, etc.

A BIG drop in memory cards price is needed too...

>>Gran Turismo Vita, Metal Gear Vita, God Of War Vita, Final Fantasy Vita, Infamous Vita, Grand Theft Auto Vita, etc.

Expect articles like "will portable spin-offs save Vita?". Sensationalism at its best.
Last time I checked, Vita is doing OK in sales, since Japan price-cut and new games releases.
I bought much more games for PSV than for PS3 last year (and this year too).

you cant see the effect of this by atleast a year..
a constant release of indie games by months will be nice
while we wait for those AAA/Quality games to be release
(killzone:mercenary, sony bend AAA vita game, some projects from ubisoft and some games that are still unannounced)

besides we will have some good games coming this summer to fall a lot of them are JRPGS ^_^

Lol - yet another 'article' about SAVING Vita ...*smh*
Once PS4 drops you will be able to play ALL your PS4 games as well as Vita's growing library of games, whilst away from home. Could you want more?
