MGS V Trailer - Ubisoft take note

Gametaroo! Writes:

The MGS V trailer is a fantastic example of the ‘Show, don’t tell’ ethos; it doesn’t bombard you with exposition, but instead relies on the artistry of its production to sell you it’s vision and in doing so stirs up a genuine sense of excitement; no mean feat for a series that is now 26 years old.

Which leads me to Ubisoft or, more concisely, to Ubisoft’s recent trailers for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and Watch Dogs; both of which are highly anticpated titles and both of which deserve a lot better than the clunking, dated monstrosities that Ubisoft’s PR team have delivered. (Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, PC, PS3, Watch Dogs, Wii U, Xbox 360)

it was simply an amazing trailer. The only problem I had with it was that snake sounded off... David Hayter not voicing as snake is really a hard pill to swallow.

I welcome the new voice actor with open arms. We may not be getting a new lead character, but at least we're getting a new voice. Hayter was a fantastic voice actor and an overall awesome guy, but it's really time for a change.

I respect your opinion but I do not agree with you. How do you get tired of a characters voice, let a lone a iconic character like snake? I understand change, however change does not apply in this particular area where the lead voice actor is gone.

If Ubisoft wants Splinter Cell to be successful they must take quotes for Metal Gear Solid franchise.

Gameplay is not the only important thing. Story, character, bosses, and epic OMG moments are also important.

who is to say this is big boss. it looks like big boss, smells like big boss and even has one eye like big boss. but I don't ever remember him having a prosthetic arm...

this should be real interesting...

I wander if it was Solid Snake who put him in the coma to begin with..

I can't wait to play this game

I just wish Kojima would release Snatchers and Policenauts again!

First they take away Michael ironside from Sam Fisher
NOW THEY TAKE HAYTER FROM SNAKE....

Still going to buy Splinter Cell, but if this guy even thinks about trying to say "Metal Gear" I'm going to cry.

lol metal gear! his voice is special to the series, but the show must go on.

While I agree the Metal Gear trailer was fantastic, I would have to strongly disagree with this writers take on Ubisoft's Watch Dogs presentations. In fact, I could argue that what Ubisoft has done with Watch Dogs is highly appropriate for a new IP, while Metal Gear already has a huge fan base and so their trailer, which might be confusing for people new to Metal Gear, is very intriguing for long time fans of the series. Watch Dogs cannot deliver the same type of trailer when their game has no history to fall back on.
