Saints Row IV Pax East 2013 Super Powers, Aliens, Is it Over The Top?

In the following interview, Steve discusses the newest add-ons to the Saints Row franchise, including superpowers and innovative weaponry. Some of the superpowers include rapidly sprinting through the world, and telekinetic abilities. Some new weapons will have enemies inflating until they explode, and dancing uncontrollably. Look, Don't get me wrong I like Saints Row but it's getting to the point that even I think it might be a little too much. There was a time where to get things like super powers you have to put a cheat code in or earn it. Now it's a free for all of crazy shit. Even Still I want this game.

Some people like that TOO much stuff, like myself. I can appreciate a game that knows it's not all serious shit, where you can just have fun and not have a care in the world.

Same with me.. to play serious I go with GTA.. to have some fun and laugh a bit I go with Saints Row! It's quite simple I guess.. but I like Saints Row a lot more than I like GTA ;)

Loved Saints Row 2's focus on gang culture, but SR3 lost all of that. Too over the top IMO. But I actually might pick up SR4. The whole superpower element will give this entry a lot of replayability.

If a game's fun, it's fun.
They obviously feel taking the series into bat-shit territory is the way to go. While I loved Saints Row 2, I loved Saints Row 3 as well.
More than willing to give this one a shot.

I like how this game has zero pretense to seriousness. It's kind of like a gigantic satire of videogames in general, which videogames certainly had coming.
