One of the hottest topics coming out of the leaked Battlefield 4 trailer isn’t the high quality visuals or the heart-racing action, but the inclusion of a Rihanna snippet.
Funny its not even a Rihanna song
The article mentions who the song belongs to and that Rihanna is only featured on it. Despite that, it's still an odd mix
I just watched the trailer and I can't see what's wrong with it...Do the lyrics not tie into the theme/gameplay of Battlefield? Do the potential players of this game feel that their masculinity is challenged because they listened to a Rihanna hook during a preview of their favorite title? I hope they use Trinidad James - All Gold Everything just to piss off the world with their next trailer lol.
When I think of war and death I don't think of rap or hip hop, I think of hard rock or heavy metal.
It's unbelievable how much of an issue this has become when the hook fits the game perfectly. "Feel it comin' in the air Hear the screams from everywhere I'm addicted to the thrill It's a dangerous love affair Can't be scared when it goes down Got a problem, tell me now Only thing that's on my mind Is who's gonna run this town tonight... Is who's gonna run this town tonight... We gonna run this town" Are air battles not a part of Battlefield? Are we not "addicted" to the game? When we get online, don't we all just have one thing on our minds? and is it not who da f*ck is gonna run this this map? town? or what ever? @ 422185 That's great and there's nothing wrong with that, as long as you recognize that this is "your personal preference", out of the nearly 8 billion people on this earth.
Song fits well with the trailer. People who are hating obviously are too picky. It's just a trailer guys, not every Modern War Shooter trailer should have Rolling Stones, or The Who lol.
So COD fans with an outdated engine have to resort to nitpicking songs that actually fit the theme?
The song is a little out of place primarily because I heard it so many times on the radio and totally don't associate it with war. However, it is a good fit so don't know what the bruhahaha is all about. @morganfell: "So COD fans with an outdated engine have to resort to nitpicking songs that actually fit the theme?" What happened to you? Your comments get worse by the day!
People will complain about anything for the sake of complaining. It really isn't even that serious, the song fit the trailer well
A hip h(p)op track in an FPS trailer? Move along, nothing out of the ordinary here. I do wish DICE, EA, or whoever gets to choose the music, would just leave rap and hip hop out of these trailers. First it was 99 Problems, and now we get Rihanna? Lame. /pointlessrant
People have way to much time on their hands.....
C'mon guys give them a break.
I would say Rihanna should be part of a *puts on sunglasses* Beat em up
Funny. but you better watch your back now mate. I heard Sessler has spies all over these comments looking for opportunities to WhiteKnight. See you on Fox News I guess
SHe hasn't had a good hit since Brown.
I love Rihanna and I can listen to her 24/7 so this is great
Me too. Saw her in Vegas, she is tall (had heels on) and hawt. The way I like them. Now how to get rid of chris brown...
it is rihannas song jayz rihanna and konye west 3 of them did that song
People are so emotional over the song that they forget its about the gameplay. SMH
why is this even a topic?
Simple: The purpose of this story is to stir shit up.
Dissapointed that once again Battlefield goes for the hip-hop/pop approach... THIS is what I want Battlefield music to be http://www.youtube.com/watc...
The themes seem to follow the era of the game so I doubt we will get a 1942/43 style them without going back to WWII. Personally I would prefer something a bit more metal for modern BF titles:
I agree. Some metal, or rock would be awesome for Battlefield games. Here's to hoping BF4 has jeeps with radio stations that play AC/DC.
That's so much better...but I guess the kiddies don't like metal anymore.
Nostalgia at it's funniest. First of all the theme song has not changed...it's the same rhythm. The hip-hop approach is strictly for commercial use...it makes the game seem more appealing to the biggest audience in America...the commercials for the game in EU are much different actually. Either way though the only developer that will keep it's advertisements with the same flow of music if Blizzard because they aren't going for new comers...they just want their current users to buy the next one.
Times are a changin' my friend.
Cmon people this is really not anywhere near necessary. This is embarrassing .
Minus the misplaced hubbub over the music, the trailer looks great. Lots of exploding bits and things getting destroyed. Looks like they're eschewing big army vs big army and it looks like a more intimate story. Of course, I could be wrong.
Hoe's and Battlefield have never mixed in the past before. It left me disturbed.
The song is terrible. As was 99 Problems, which they used for BF3.
The same people bitching about the music will also be pre-ordering it.lol
Well, duh... Why would people complain about the music for a game they don't plan to purchase?...
It's not the weirdest celebrity connection to a game, tbh.
Whats with BF trailers and its crappy Rap sound tracks??? Next time just make it a killer guitar solo and everybody will be happy!
I didn't like the song tbh, but whatever... The video was awesome at least.
Its a Jay-Z song, Rihanna only sings the chorus. Why are these people complaining about a song that wont even be in the game. Pretty sure the song is just there for commercial use. . . ya know, to appeal to more people who might watch the ad.
They should have used a country song.
They should of played tyler the creator - radical lol But I'll smash Rihanna anyway ;P
I think Chris Brown's already smashed her
this is ridiculous, first world country problems...
I also would like to use Rihanna...
Not to bothered myself musics is music battlefield is battlefield. If I would of rolled with a song it would have been uncommon valor by vinnie and the rugged man.
Rihanna can't sing and she is with a loser called Chris brown. Maybe she likes a beating.
I don't see the big deal people Military shooters always use rap songs in all their commericals. Eminem in Modern Warfare 2 "To I Collapse( My favorite song on the Eminem Show Album, his best album in my opinion)." http://www.youtube.com/watc... and Battelfield 3 with Jay-Z 99 problems: http://www.youtube.com/watc... And to correct the title this is also a Jay-z song featuring Rihanna so stop complaining about bullcrap!!!!
that eminem mw2 trailer has got to be the best trailer i have seen. it got me so pumped up for mw2 haha
They used Eminem again for the COD MW3 trailer. Won't back down or whatever it was called.
Actually for Black Ops 1 but yeah that was a good song also.
as if no one has ever been caught singing a rihanna song , no matter how much metal or rap or wierd k/j pop disney songs u listen to , were all guilty
what a stupid article. the guy who wrote it just collected all the negative tweets together and then says unpopular decision on ea's part...how did this get approved?
In B4 Trailer? omg I think I'm in love with Rihanna
Rhianna is so friggin HOT and Fine She could be apart of a Toilet Tissue commercial and I would be happy.
Well, this is the 2nd Jay-Z song they've used.
who cares its fucking trailer, so long as don't have the bitch singing while we play who gives a fuck, seriously people really need start sorting there shit out crying over stupid bullshit like this
The thing is when I see a new trailer like battle field 4 I'm expecting the bf jingle or a variant of it. So when I first hit play to watch the vid I thought the person who posted the video edited it with rihanas song. So I immediately stopped it and looked for another vid of the trailer and loe and behold rihanas song came on. The song made me think that dice is turning battlefield into something else. Yeah even music can turn heads. Its a good song just don't belong in bf4 maybe it belongs in twighlight. I still like the game but I hope dice doesn't do drastic stupid changes.
lol this is just to funny xD... i'm off to play Bioshock Infinite now :D
I couldn't care less what song they use.......
Not a fan of Rihanna, but don't say that it was terrible mistake to add one of her songs in the trailer! I personally thought it fit well...
OMG it's just a licenced song. Is it really so important what song it is or who the artist is? I mean the song works in the vid and that's probably why they took the song.
Every post seems to be jumping on the bandwagon and bashing or praising the trailer for the same reason. I guarantee most of those people just looked at the previous post and was like "well, I'm going to bash it and everyone is bashing it because of Rihanna, so I'll use that since it's the popular thing to do right now." It's part of a song for a trailer. Who really cares? How many topics have you seen people hate on Dragon's Dogma because of the title theme? It's not even a trailer. It's the actual title music. Link below if people haven't played Dragon's Dogma. www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0CxI JBHBVQ Castlevania Symphony of the Night has the worst ending song in any video game. It gets recognition for being so bad, but the game doesn't get hated on because of the crappy song. People be ridin' the hate train, drinkin' the haterade. All day long.
Yes I was so pissed off by the hook by Rihanna they should have used Justin Bieberz
Hey...at least its not justin bieber)
