New Game Console Success Isn't a Foregone Conclusion

Forbes - In the next few days, Microsoft is expected to announce their next generation console, dubbed the “XBOX 720” at this year’s GDC (Game Developer Conference). This is right on the heels of Sony’s recent PS4 announcement and lackluster sales announcements for Nintendo’s Wii U. (PS4, Wii U, Xbox One)

Seriously, people can't seem to comprehend this.

Its like they actually expect the PS4 and Durango to pull "current" 360 and PS3 numbers from launch onwards.

Keep in mind the PS3 didn't launch during the middle of a recession.

Nintendo's advertising for the Wii U so far has been abysmal and they haven't even released one of their triple A titles yet and it still outperforms last gen sales. That's impressive.

Funny they say this is going to happen when I just read that MS skipped GDC all together.
