PS4: Saints Row 4 Devs 'Excited' About Video Sharing

1. Good PR for the game, devs + publishers win

2. Players get to share and communicate with other players more, win for social aspect of the game

3. Potential buyers see the game online on the top videos shared, and buy the game after they see all the crazy things that the trailers didn't show, win for both gamers and publishers

4. More copies sold = another sequel in the future, win for gamers

...all that from a share button. Can only see good things from the implementation of Sonys online social strategy.

There's a something fascinating about this PS4 feature that I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe it's just the fun we will have uploading hilarious glitches and fails or maybe it's how these uploads will help devs find and fix bugs. It could be the easy access to hints and walkthoughs this will provide or even the pride of showing off a particularly difficult accomplishment.

All in all, I feel this feature is getting a bad rap because of being described as 'social', which can come across as casual to a core gamer. I definitely think we have a game changer on our hands though.

You bring up a good point. Let's say you're playing Knack, and when you're playing through the story you happen to fall through the ground randomly(glitch of course). You would then go to the PS forums reporting the issue, then one of the developers would ask you to go back and share where the glitch is happening. It could definitely help when it comes to fixing game problems, it's a lot more powerful than you realize. It can also help pinpoint hackers in games, so you have less cheaters when playing online.

This is the first thing I thought of when I heard about share. Imagine using it on a game like this or GTA.

It would be great if it had a directors mode as well, and not just a straight video capture.

If they have it where you can export the saved recording to a USB flash drive and then put it on your PC for editing, I would love this feature A LOT.

They did this for the PS3 version of Just Cause 2 and people used it like crazy! It's going to be a welcome feature for all of us!

Yep, I wonder why JC2 was the only game to utilize the feature though. Or maybe there were a few other games too, but still it wasn't universal among all the games like it shouldve been
