GR - "Time to look forward to Mass Effect 4."
Not really surprising. There's been a ton of content, and whilst people on N4G will bash the microtransactions, the fact is, they were entirely optional. The people who did pay though, meant that all the MP DLC (and there was a TON of it) could be released for free. This is a model I am more than happy with.
I guess most people would argue that the content that is micro-transactions should be free in the first place or included. Micro-transactions don't always make all other DLC free. (Borderlands 2).
Microtransactions in Mass Effect 3 multiplayer are just shortcut unlocks, there is no exclusive content in the microtransactions whatsoever. You can get everything by playing legitimately that you can by paying for it. Including free microtransactions would mean you could just keep unlocking everything the multiplayer had to offer on the very first day, maxed out weapons, maxed out characters, making the whole unlocking system they worked on and created pointless. So arguing that the microtransactions in Mass Effect 3 should be free is ridiculous.
@vickers Perhaps today they are shortcut unlocks, but how long do you think it will take for them to expand it into locking out content that really should be included in the game? Don't think it won't happen, just like DLC went from being 'just a little something extra that wouldn't be missed if you didn't buy it' to 'holding back missions and characters to sale it as DLC' so might microtransactions evolve into paying real money for bullets and potions whenever you run out. If I want to play a free to play game, I wouldn't be spending $60 in the first place.
Fine with me, ME3 MP is fun but HIGHLY unbalanced a year later they didn't fix the issues with the AI. Obnoxious and annoying AI that never misses shots...
There aren't too many people on the multiplayer anymore anyway.
Thank you GOD! Kill that abomination.
There is still people playing this, just last night did around five matches with full team, unfortunately the servers suck and you loose connection easily.
ME3 Multiplayer was a pleasant surprise, Bioware did a great job in term of support (very active in their forums) and they released very good (and free) DLCs. I'm playing everyday and I can find people pretty easely.
Time to look forward to mass effect 4? No thanks
I didn't even know these games had multi-player
