Bioshock Infinite Review | Nave360

Nave360's Charlie writes:

"The day Bioshock Infinite was announced was a good day. The announcement came out of nowhere, and the more gamers knew about this game over the coming years, the better it looked. When I had the chance to grab a copy from a shop that was selling them early, I made sure I did. Around 13 hours later (over the weekend, of course), I’m left a little astonished, baffled, disappointed and amazed all at the same time... is that even possible?" (BioShock: Infinite, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 4/5

There's a LOT of competition.
Irishguy95  +   677d ago
There is a lot, it's between this and GTA though
Trenta27  +   677d ago
I have been waiting for this game since I finished the first one when it came out. A lot of great games will come out this year, but this one, no matter what, will be my game of the year.
Lisica  +   677d ago
Not so far.
HebrewHammer  +   677d ago
Ni No Kuni and Tomb Raider are contenders thus far this year. GTAV, Bioshock Infinite, The Last of Us and many others are probably going to be among the top-tier as well.
Kran  +   678d ago
I'd have to disagree. Whilst it's so far the best game ive played this year, there's still A LOT of the year to go.
Sebianoti  +   678d ago
Hey... GTA V is out later this year, might not be the game of the year but it's only March 2013, 9 more months to go!

Are you from the year 2014?

Not

Nope either last of us or beyond 2 souls ;)
Kingdom Come  +   677d ago
"Beyond: Two Souls" is practically an interactive movie. Whilst "Heavy Rain" was a brilliant immersive experience, all Press Previews I've read have stated "Beyond" to practically play itself...

"The Last of Us" will be phenomenal...

Can't wait to delve into this story......

I hope it allows for lots of freedom in battles. I stalked big daddies in the first one like a hunting expedition. The one thing I don't like is when you are suddenly locked in a room and enemies attack. I like being able to pull back, hide, let the alarms wind down then assassinate.

Regardless, this is my fourth most anticipated confirmed game release for 2013. 1st is new Infamous, then The Last of Us then Watch Dogs.

So *that's* why they call you Campy da Camper.
yaz288  +   678d ago
all the hype and shit the game have done in these past years have worked .. goty without a need to even play! right? this is getting annoying .. gta v gonna be next for the hype train. "Game of the decade!" no need to wait.

Nave360? Wtf?

Disappointed that the game still has that much looting.

I remember the first one, there was a ton of looting already, but the variety in available items was so low, it got old fast to scavenge every freaking corpse for one dollar and a couple bullets.
Loki86  +   678d ago
So what you are saying is you enjoy when games are dumbed down to the casual player like yourself? Less looting, less complex story, less to do. You sir, are what's wrong with the gaming industry.
masa2009  +   677d ago
Excuse me, but what's complex about the looting in Bioshock?
You just collect the same crap over and over and over again.
Basically, it's all the grind and time consuming nature of RPG looting, without any of the actual stats and depth of an RPG.

So don't act all elitist, like streamlining the item collecting in Bioshock would mean perverting the integrity of the game and going casual.
Bioshock IS an accessible game aimed at a large audience, its goal is immersion into a game world, and as its stands this pointless looting is just a relic of its distant RPG roots. Other than looting, all other RPG mechanics have already been wiped out from it anyway.
Loki86  +   677d ago
Where did say the looting was complex or that the game was void of RPG elements. Did you even read my post before deciding to respond in such a condescending way? Anyways, what draws me into a game is interaction, a deep twisting narrative that is impossible to figure out, and mind-blowing level design. Everything else is secondary.

Well by purchasing bioshock infinite PC I got Xcom, Darkness 2, Bioshock and of course infinite so I can't really complain if the game sucks. Xcom alone costs more than the bundle.

Is that the Amazon deal? I got XCom and $30 2K credit, as well as a few other less significant goodies I think. I'm not sure if I want to go for Spec Ops: The Line or Darkness II with the $30 2K credit. Both are $30 on Amazon.
Bladesfist  +   677d ago
It's on greenmangaming which seems to have the best deal for EU peeps.
BozoLoco  +   677d ago
The game is STUNNING on PC: not so much on consoles.

I'll have two reviews on N4G in the next 1.5 hours.
AKS  +   677d ago
It's not necessary to stir the hornet's nest with those types of comments. I've already had more than enough of the PS4 RAM vs. PC flame wars that have flooded this place as it is without you adding to it. Of course it's not going to look the same on a console from 2006 compared to a new PC.

FPS of the year

Though playable on the PS3, anyone who owns both systems will enjoy the experience more on the X360.
grayfoxx881  +   677d ago
Care to elaborate why you think so? I'm curious, considering some sites have indicated it performs better on the PS3.
