Man why did the Dreamcast have to die? It truly had some great games. Who knows what the industry would be like if Sega still had a console, I wish they would have teamed up with Valve.

SEGA`s MegaCD & Saturn were so bad that customers lost faith in Sega plus the Dreamcast had no DVD player which Sony`s PS2 did have & then EA said they weren't going to support it which was the final nail in the coffin. It was a shame really cos the Dreamcast was a cool console.

MegaCD (SegaCD in the US) wasn't bad at all. In fact, it still has some of my favorite games of all time. It just cost $300 dollars 20 years ago...so it wasn't very affordable. I had it until a couple years ago, still have my Saturn and Dreamcast, but SegaCD was my favorite.

Sega had bad marketing, I loved sega and barely knew about the MegaCD in the UK, The saturn was a great console, just hard to develop for.

Loved my dreamcast and played alot of these games, I miss sega of old, what the hell have they become?

I am a huge sega console fanboy. Always was, always will be. If they ever release a new console, I'll get day one just to support them. It doesn't even have to be powerful. Just so long it has an official Sega logo on it. I mean it.

Still playing my dreamcast.

I have 99% of these games, sorry Sega for downloading your games and killing the Dreamcast back in the day.

Amazing console. I know part of the reason for it not doing well was because of the 3rd party support but I really don't think we would of see some of these amazing games if it had the 3rd party support. Still have my Dreamcast and it gets pulled out every now and again for some retro fun.

Sega sells Relic and will cut 240 jobs across UK studios

GamesIndustry.biz writes: "Relic is best known for the Company of Heroes and Dawn of War games, and recently developed the new Age of Empires for Microsoft. Relic will transition to an independent studio and will no-longer be part of the Sega group of studios.

The majority of the 240 job cuts are across Creative Assembly and Sega Europe, while there will be a ‘small number’ cut from Sega HARDLight. There was no mention of other Sega UK studios, including Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive."

Shame about Creative Assembly, they should have just been allowed to do an Alien Isolation sequel.

just_looken22d ago

It was that garbage coh 3 that did them in only a special team can make a sequel worse in every way even though it was a 10 year gap and the same era.

gold_drake22d ago

I hope they find new jobs in the industry soon.

Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive probably run on a shoe string budget so that fits into SEGA better lol

SEGA’s Switch Predecessor: What Happened to the Nomad?

Sega had such a turbulent existence from the mid-90s to when they dropped out of console manufacturing entirely in 2001, it’s understandable if you’ve never heard of the Genesis Nomad.
