Battlefield 4 Website Reveals Two Characters: “Hanna” and Unnamed Male Soldier

MP1st - EA and DICE reveal another two pieces of artwork on the recently launched official website for Battlefield 4 in preparation for the game’s official reveal this March 26th at 11pm PDT. (Battlefield 4, PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360)

im starting to get very excited. far east location, land, air and water combat. and now hopefully these new screens hint at an African american male lead and a Asian, possibly Asian american female lead. it would be nice if a game like battlefield branches out from the typical white male marine archetype that is so played out these days. very cool stuff.

Lead should be universal like Mass Effect. You should be able to shape the lead character your way. Male/Female and whatever race you want.

Either way the game should work out alright. I care nothing for SP side anyway. Multiplayer should be bad ass. Dice does know how to make SP take about 10 hours though unlike Danger Close.

So, that explains why blue and orange suddenly looks more black and yellow...

Looks like we may be getting female character models too. I can see it now...

This is bad in bf games
Donnieboi  +   388d ago
What is bad? Female characters? Please don't be one of those idiots. It's bad enough when idiots like u give flame to feminists who keep coming on n4g to whine and complain about inequality. Let us all just be respectful to all races and genders, that way nobody has to beg for an "equality" hand-out.

I wonder if there's gonna be female soldiers in Multiplayer, just imagine running behind one staring at her ass as you walk from flag A to B xD
El_Colombiano  +   388d ago
lol this is why we can't have nice things

I can't help but be a little concerned that this might be an attempt to develop hype for a single player story. Let's face it, DICE is not good at single player campaigns so this could go either way. If they get everyone hyped up for a good campaign that turns out to be 4 hours long and as pathetic as BF3's campaign was I'll be a bit upset.

Still Battlefield is 99% multiplayer so it won't be any more of an issue than with BF3, but I'd rather they concentrate on the multiplayer rather than fail miserably with single player again. Just my .02

actually Bad company 1 and 2 had great campaigns . They just need to stop channeling "their inner COD" .

Especially when even when you propose a similar in quality campaign , people will still criticize you . Dice just need to do its thing
Donnieboi  +   388d ago
In my humble opinion, I found Bad Company's 1 & 2 campaign to be quite underwhelming (aside from some comedic relief). Just cause it was better than BF3 isnt really saying much.

I wouldn't say the Bad Company game's campaigns were really that much better... But they had a much nicer cast of characters who were far more likable, so that definitely contributed to a more bearable single-player experience.
MooseWI  +   388d ago
I never played the campaigns. Off to play BF3.

i want female soldiers, be nice to have a change in battle cries and such.

"Those c**k suckers are f**king me up, man!"

"B*tch!"

"That's the shiznit, boys..."

"F**k you, f**k you, f**k you!"

"I'm getting my sh*t pushed in here!"

"You're gunna f**king die, you f**k!"

"Zap, Zap, Motherf**kah!"

Lol, I get where you're coming from.

Also, please don't mark me for language; I'm just quoting the game lol.

They should just let you create a character from scratch!!

No one cares about the single player. Not even in Call of Duty. Just another case of EA copying Activision. Tease the game and hype it up then reveal the single player. Then start proving little sprinkles of multiplayer info to get websites to start speculating and rumors to pop up. It's a great marketing strategy really.
frostypants  +   388d ago
First of all, Activision and EA are the publishers, not the developers. Secondly, I'm not sure how the BF series has copied CoD. The gameplay isn't even remotely similar.

Anyways, I at least agree that the single player is a bit pointless. BF is about online play, period. I'd rather pay $10 less and just not have a single player mode. Make it DLC or something.

My biggest hope is that they put the balance back where it was in BF2. Currently the whole game feels a bit like a big nerf fight...fun, but lacking a bit. Bring back the dedicated assault and medic classes. Give us better server filter options. Also, they MUST bring back the destructibility from BFBC2. BF3 has it, but it's way watered down. And for god's sake give console players at least the option to play 24v24. That last point is key.

Unnamed male soldier how generic... But this Hanna Montana girl could be awesome.
FulGor3  +   388d ago
In my opinion, they should allow you to choose which race/gender you want for your character, or each class perhaps. Either option would satisfy people.
TheSaint  +   388d ago
About time, looking forward to slotting some women.
Zha1tan  +   388d ago
Why do they bother with Single players? DICE can't do good single players with the BF series.

If they want to do a SP they should have just made Mirrors Edge 2.
frostypants  +   388d ago
Why do ANY of these games? CoD campaigns have been idiotic for years...only the very first CoD had a semi-believable one that didn't feel like a bad shooting gallery
Zha1tan  +   388d ago
At least COD campaigns haven't been dumbed down to the point were you literally need AI to take you by the hand to progress through a bloody door and there isn't a quick time every 5 minutes.

They are generic but I've enjoyed the last few COD campaigns, at least they are fun.

Battlefield should just focus on it's strong points, Multiplayer.

Really you wanna go there ? It does take you by the hand actually , with a big fat "Follow me" sign from the first minute , among other things .

People potentially getting confused over qte would be the only reason they are absent

Awsome

BF single player may not be impressive, but MOH (not the shitty warfighter one) had the best and most intense campaigns of any modern military game. I played through it at least 3 times. You're crazy if you think they did a poor job on that campaign.

Why do they still bother to make single-player campaigns for series like BF? I literally do not know a single person who has talked about their single-player experience in BF3. It's always about the multiplayer. Always.

Not to say that single-player modes are pointless (I believe quite the opposite), but BF is just one of those series where multiplayer reigns supreme.
one2thr  +   387d ago
Hey as long as I can actually level buildings/random structures and ACTUALLY FLY the jet/helicopters this time around on campaign then I'd say more power to them, as long as its ok...

It can act as a means of practice to the unskilled BF folks, because that one jet mission on BF3 kinda sorta sucked at the end...
