After GTA V: 6 Cities We Could Visit Next

WC: I’m just as excited as the rest of the world for the release of Grand Theft Auto V in September, and I’ll certainly be picking it up . From the closing moments of the first trailer, I was intrigued by a return to Los Santos and the sprawling countryside, and it looks like a beautiful place to commit ugly deeds in. Whilst I have no doubt that Rockstar have crafted a typically brilliant piece of entertainment, I just can’t shake the feeling that it’s repetition for its own sake – ‘better the devil you know’. However, familiarity breeds contempt.

With that in mind, I thought I’d give some thought as to where we might go afterwards. It’s a big country, and there are plenty of options. In no particular order, here are some that might be contenders in the future. (Grand Theft Auto V, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Hopefully Rockstar Stops being Lazy and picks a New City unlike GTA4 & GTA5! I will be Pissed if GTA6 is Located in Vice City!

I wouldn't say they're being lazy, it's not like they reused the map from GTA III for GTA IV, very few similarities really.

I'm not sure where it'd be located, but I honestly think it'll be set in the future. They've said in the past they'd be interested in the idea if they could come up with a compelling plot that fits. I wouldn't be surprised though if they just created a whole new series to do this like they did with RDR.

Time for Chicago. It's perfect:

--A rich italian mafia history (and mafia-like organizations by blacks, latino's, organized women gangs, prison gangs, and non-italian white gangs).

--The birthplace of cross-country-wide street gangs (People and Folks gangs preceded Crips/Bloods--who were inspired by Chicago's street gangs) and would be perfect for street gang environment too (home of the Gangster Disciples, Vice Lords, Latin Kings, etc). Unlike the Crips/Bloods/Families/Ballas, the Chicago gangs are VERY racially diverse, most gangs have a healthy mix of whites, blacks, latino, and asians in the same gang. That is great especially for online gaming since people can still play as their own race, without having to be in a gang that omits certain other races.

--Birth place of some of the most notorious Biker gangs.

--Known for great political scandal and corruption.

--Home of the biggest gangsters in American history, organized or street. Including female, minority, and even "police" involved in gang activity (Al Capone, Larry Hoover, etc).

--Original Home of the Valentine's Day massacre and drive-by shootings. Also known for it's past and present underground/black markets, home-made narcotics and bootlegging.

Seriously most of the best true-crime novels are about events in Chicago--past and present. Chicago has elements for every type of gangster, whether they are "hood", organized, mafia, drug dealer, bank robber, professional hitman, entrepreneur, smuggler, corrupt cop, or crazy vigilante. :)
