Painkiller: Hell & Damnation Xbox 360 Preview | Daily Joypad

When the original critically acclaimed Painkiller hit PCs in 2004 it was welcomed with open arms. It was a refreshing and nostalgic throwback to simpler times in a genre that found itself becoming increasingly cinematic and to many PC veterans – unnecessarily complex.

Now, almost ten years on from Painkiller’s release, saying that the genre has changed a bit would be a rather large understatement. For anyone emerging from a cryogenic nap – the PC is no longer widely considered the reigning king of FPS games and now linear, modern military console shooters rule the roost.

Nordic Games clearly heard the voice of the many disgruntled old school PC gamers out there and at the end of last year released Painkiller Hell & Damnation exclusively for PC..' (Nordic Games, Painkiller Hell & Damnation, Xbox 360)
