In an interview with AusGamers at the Australian launch of StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, Aussie guest, Dustin Browder, talked about getting their latest expansion out the door and what the team would be focusing on from here on out. But he also touched, passionately, on details surrounding the next expansion, Legacy of the Void.
"Then for Legacy of the Void, the only thing I can say at this point, is think of it more as Seven Samurai," Browder explained. "This is The Protoss on their last legs, in their final hours, fighting against the darkness that threatens to consume the Universe. And they are the only ones who can stand up to the forces that are arrayed against them.
"They are the proud few warriors facing the void, facing oblivion on their own, and slowly being picked off one-by-one. And that’s what we’re going to try and get across in Legacy of the Void, that real sense of doom, and really give you the sense of what it is like to be this race with those long, and amazing, and glorious traditions, slowly being consumed and snuffed out."

Modder ‘NightmareDoors’ has released the demo of a new total conversion mod for StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void, called Dead Zone – Hope Lost. Dead Zone – Hope Lost is described as a dense horror atmosphere unlike anything else seen in Starcraft 2 thanks to a large amout of custom assets, enviromental systems and intricate sound design.
