GameSpot: "Control issues and a lack of online play hamper what's otherwise an outstanding Monster Hunter game."
Capcom screwed up. No online for a co-op centric game? Just dumb.
I agree that it should definitely be there, but it's just not the same experience as firing up the game with your buddies in the same room. That's what Monster Hunter's always been about - social play.
Still no excuse to omit it. This is 2013, not 2003 with the psp. Bad enough it's just a prettied up version of an older game, now they omit online. Just more stupid game industry blunders by yet another stupid game company.
The Wii U version has online Co-op for couch play with friends that can't connect their Wii-U's to yours, because, you know, that's impossible. The 3DS doesn't and never did need online, it's meant to be played with friends, real life friends. I love how people are projecting their lack of friends to play with as Capcom's fault right now. You'll just have to man up, go out and socialise, it seems.
Uhhh, well... Incidentally, not too many people own a Wii U/3DS right now, and even fewer have Monster Hunter. That's not a solution.
Suffered lack of online play on the psp too but then came along ad hoc party. Should of been a vita game
It still would have had no online Co-Op, whether it was on Vita or not. You're just going to have to deal with that.
Ad hoc party says hi. Online play buddy, deal with that
Ad Hoc party is not online co-op, it would have been a work around for the vita version not having online co-op, just as the Wii U has a workaround for the 3DS not having Co-op. But hey, at least the 3DS exclusive MH4 will have online co-op built in. It always amazes me how pissed off Sony fans get when they get told they no longer have Monster Hunter.
