I enjoyed playing it, I thought it tied up the conclusion rather nicely. Fortunately people bagging on this game hasn't reduced the amount of fun I've had with it.
Haven't tried the dlc yet. Plan on grabbing it once I start my co-op playthrough. I thought Dead Space 3 was a great game. I really don't care how much people like to bash the game.
