Farcry 3 – The Rook Island Experience

Play Vault:

"There are many places these days that are beautiful places for people to explore. Far Cry 3′s Rook Island has to be one of my personal favourites. Here are my top 5 reasons why Rook Island is the perfect holiday destination for you to take a trip to and get away from the boring and grinding reality of everyday (real) life…

Whether by land or by sea there are plenty of vehicles waiting for you to jump into and take for a joyride. (Please note that military vehicles may cost you extra as in the extra price of… your life. The Play Vault accepts no responsibility for loss of digital life during your Rook Island holiday experience.)" (Far Cry 3, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Outside of the setting and graphics there's nothing going for this game...

*Spoilers*
The way they handle taking out your main adversaries in that game is far from satisfying. When you take out Vaas you get stabbed in the chest but somehow it doesn't matter... I mean sure your a self healing bullet sponge so a knife in the heart ain't shit but come on. I really shouldn't even say you take out Vaas because your left with the feeling like you'll see him later on in the story. Everything about Jason Brody screams the same kind of bullshit whining that Anakin Skywalker offered up for the newer Star Wars sequels...

I disagree, the setting and graphics for the game are fantastic BUT the game also provides brilliant gunplay, action set pieces, creative missions and the ethereal sound of the game is a masterpiece.

*Spoilers*
The story spoilers section which you have explained is correct though, unfortunately, villains meet their end way too quickly and not always in a dramatically exciting manner.

Gunplay was great... I'll give you that. The set pieces don't really stand out though. I managed to miss a few of them by looking the wrong way when they happened then turning around and being clueless as to what was going on, all the rest of them were just really big explosions which I'm not sure count as set peices (I'm not counting the cut-scenes). *Spoilers* The only missions that I really liked was the one where you burned the weed fields (I got lucky and it started raining when I was doing that mission) and the one where you have to navigate through the mine field in the rice patties. I just really really hate how he whines though... I got to the point one time where I was saying STFU to my tv. I choose the bad ending just because I wanted him to make a dumb ass decision and die... not to mention I made him go on a red pill binge while he was telling everyone else how he was going to take care of everything and that everything would be ok... just let me take one more pill. XD
