10 Games With Awful Shooting Mechanics

"Rather than lead by example, I'd rather add to the problem by combining the two together. That said, I hate positivity, so a top 10 shooters list is out of the question. Instead let's talk about those games out there that have really dodgy shooting mechanics. Even if the games themselves are good overall, we have ten examples for you of titles with sub-par gunplay." (Duke Nukem Forever, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

I agree with all but 2010's Medal of Honor. The shooting mechanics in that game were fine. It's just the repetitive "shooting gallery" style gameplay that was annoying.

i only played MOH, Haze, and duke and i would agree that all of them were awful including MOH.

MOH Warfighter actually has better shooting mechanics than BF3... they redeemed themselves at least compared to their previous title. That series will never live down super nazi's that take 20 headshots to put down though.

@ CaptainQuark

You think that the games were awful, or the shooting mechanics. MoH didn't have bad shooting mechanics... they were on par with top of the line modern war shooters. The game itself may have sucked, but the shooting gameplay was there.

I'd replace MoH with something else, and Dead Island wasn't really a shooter. I can think of many 3rd person shooters which had flawed mechanics, but the list concentrates on FPS.

Disagree with MoH Haze and MaG. Particularly the authors reasons for them being on the list. The shooting was fine in those games.

Take MAG for example. The author sites poor hit detection but that is a known issue in all Treyarch developed CoDs...but Black Ops isn't on the list.

Not saying Haze was great but its not Duke Nukem bad. Its more like Homefront bad. Or Timeshift bad. Actually...I'd say Haze is probably the best of the mediocre shooters. It just had a poor story and horrible characters. Even the multiplayer was good. How many mutiplayer maps have you seen that take place on a moving carrier?

Quite a few, actually, but I get your point. Inventive and memorable map design for multiplayer shooters is a bit uncommon these days.

Like, I enjoyed High Rise back in the day when I still played MW2, but it's no Morpheus.
