Review: SimCity | Super PolyPixel

Super PolyPixel - SimCity is the only game that I have ever pre-ordered. It’s a game that I have personally been excited for since it’s announcement last March. Easily on my top 5 most anticipated games of 2013, I don’t think that I’m alone in saying that this may be the biggest video game let-down in the history of the industry.

The promise of SimCity is unbounded given the legacy of the series as well as the excellent pedigree of its developer, Maxis. I’m a huge fan of The Sims franchise as well as the more recent Spore. Taking what they’ve learned from these games and putting them on top of a brand new SimCity sounds like a great idea. There is, however, one fatal flaw. In order to play SimCity, you are required to always be connected to the internet. (PC, SimCity) 3/10
