GS:A lick of HD paint, a more robust online component, and a bunch of new content make Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate the best hunt yet.
"This is the way of the....Ooga Booga!" Game for real gamers. Can`t wait! 2 days left.
This'll actually be the first Monster Hunter game I've played. Hope I like it!
It's a love it or hate it type of game. As long as you don't mind the +3 hours of learning the maps and things to gather you will be fine. The first thing that draws people into the franchise is their first big kill. It might take multiple tries with various strategies each time, but once you succeed the feeling is amazing. Each time you beat a monster the better you get at naturally fighting them. Increased natural skills, armor sets, and weapons (types/ strengths) will decrease the time you take to defeat a monster. Example 40 minutes the first time, then 35, finally it will continue until your best time (5-20 mins?). The second attraction of the game is co-op. The feeling of running alongside fellow monster hunters, each with their own special armors and weapons, fighting together to take the large beast down is great. The plus of co-op is being able to fight monster your normally couldn't fight yourself at your current state. Also being able to have access to new items for supplies to new weapons and armors. The negative side of co-op is relying too much on others for help. By doing this you stunt your natural growth in fighting certain monsters on your own. This will punish your teammates and yourself when it comes to fighting the high rank monsters. Edited for missing word.
The gave the Wii version the same score. I don't even know how that is possible.
Different reviewer? not sure myself, just saying.
Sadly, this will be the best looking Monster Hunter game for many years to come because Crapcom is too freaking stupid to develop on consoles then port to handheld. Looking at Monster Hunter 4 just makes me sad.
Capcom is too afraid or greedy (or smart from a business perspective) to create huge improvements on the series. If they too much too soon then they cannot lengthen the life of the series. It means less interesting ideas for future sequels, which in turn might make some newer ideas seem forced. While TriU looks nice, it isn't what capcom can make it to be. The environment is similar to that of MH (PS2 2004). MH is Capcom's Pokemon.
Hopefully, Deep Down is what this game should have been and more. But we all know Capcom.
I have to disagree on Deep Down being the future of monster hunter. Personally it looks more like a sequel to Dragons Dogma.
I love this game. I hope anyone who is trying it for the first time stick with it. This game is all about the rewards of putting in the effort. Preparation for a big hunt makes the kill much more satisfying.
