TGV Review: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate follows the events of MercurySteam‘s excellent reboot of the Castlevania franchise, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. However, Mirror of Fate has a pretty big cape to fill, so how does MercurySteam’s effort on the 3DS measure up? (3DS, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate) 3/10

Glad I didn't buy this... Almost did until I started seeing reviews.

I didn't hold out much hope for this after playing the demo.

What a pile of shit.

It upsets me that they're tried to throw aspects from all Castlevania games into this to turn it into some game with no direction nor identity.

Seeing that whip take up half of the screen and hearing Alucard's English voice in MoF will hunt me forever.

OUCH. Im surprised to see that a handheld castlevania is seeing such negative reviews.
Not losing any sleep over it though. Im not too into this new wave of castlevania to begin with. I know thousands of people have said this before, but there is really not much of a sinister undertone to the game to make them worthwhile, for me anyway.
off topic: i know im part of a barely-microscopic community that enjoyed the title, but i personally feel that the castlevania series would benefit greatly from revisiting the castlevania 64 days. Yes, the controls were awful and the graphics were meh...but there were definitely some pretty solid ideas that game had going. sad to see that none of that formula translated to the lords of shadow series. But as i was saying, to see castlevania 64s darker, more ambient setting on current gen consoles would be a dream come true for a guy like myself, no doubt.

Have you played Lords of Shadow? I was skeptical about the reboot, too, but the console title blew me away.

I just yesterday finished the game, the more you play, the more interesting it gets,, 8.5\10 from me, some of you people should stop watching those reviews, I mean bad ones and see that there are many good ones too.. game is better than demo

Yeah, i mean 3/10? seriuosly?! Those score for games with bad quality like Alien:CM and not for this game.

Even though i only tried Mirror's Fate demo but it's really fun and reminds me of classic castlevania. A solid 8/8.5 are more appropriate for it.

Yeah I picked the game up yesterday and I can barely put it down. It's got the combat of LoS and style and feel of castlevania of old. What I've noticed is the people who haven't liked this game are the people who don't actually know castlevania and compare every title to sympathy of the night and other metroidvania titles. I'm enjoying it and I will t
Until LoS2 comes out.

worst Castlevania ever... ouch mercury steam, I think that hurts, now you really have to redeem yourself on LOS 2.

I really want to see the next-gen Castlevania coming back to their creators the japanesse, Michiru Yamane how I miss you
