MTV- Devil May Cry: Vergil's Downfall DLC Review

MTV:"Vergil's Downfall," the first story expansion for Ninja Theory's "Devil May Cry" reboot explicitly closes the loop between itself and the PS2-era series. Which is kind of a shame, because instead of the complicated, hero-turned villain of "DmC," Vergil is brought back around to the maniacal, unknowable villain of "Devil May Cry 3" by the time the credits roll on "Vergil's Downfall."

DmC was a great game. Too bad such negative hype ruined it's sales. If you haven't played it you should.

My Top Antiheroes of all Time

Occasionally gamers are given the chance to control a protagonist that doesn’t care about anything and walks the gray line between good and evil. They fight because they’re either forced to do so or for selfish reasons and don’t care who they have to hurt to get want they want.

Kratos is the stand-out ultimate anti-hero for me.

It's not even subtle, NOTHING he does is good, literally every single thing you do in those games are for your own benefit, your own gratification and in some cases just outrages violence when one quick chop would have sufficed.

Can't beat a bit of GOW goodness to vent some steam, well, except maybe Mortal Kombat =P

How is Shepard an anti-h- Oh you mean Badass Shepard.

We need more anit-heroes in gaming. I love playing as Kratos, how he is so direct and lets nothing in his way stop him. Good guys always take the long way round to avoid confrontation or to save 'innocents', meh, I'd rather kick the door down and kill everyone inside in a spectacular and brutal fashion, no other lead character does this as well as Kratos. He is so fun to play as and GoW is one of the games to play to relieve stress, or to vent steam as some say.

DmC: Devil May Cry - Vergil's Downfall Review | Bag of Games

Josh from Bag of Games writes "Serving as the first major portion of DLC Ninja Theory’s magnificently well-crafted reboot, DmC: Devil May Cry has received, Vergil’s Downfall provides a relatively inexpensive add-on ($9/720 Microsoft Points) to Dante’s intriguing, Limbo-themed campaign. However, does assuming the role of Dante’s demented, power-hungry twin brother, Vergil supply avid hack n’ slash fans with enough incentives to warrant another stab at the franchise?"

Totally worth it in my opinion - I always liked Vergil

It wasn't flawless, but playing as Vergil (even for a short duration) really was an enjoyable experience. I have to give it to Ninja Theory, they didn't just simply re-skin Dante and call him Vergil. They really made an effort to make Vergil's combat style distinct and, personally, I really appreciated that.

Stupid move to make this DLC, that DmC ending was beyond $#1T, this should have been with the game, the ending to this was actually plausable.
