What Went Wrong: Tomb Raider

I cannot be too clear on this point: Tomb Raider is in no way a bad game. Over the course of its exceptional campaign, you’ll inhabit a newly-imagined Lara Croft, one who inhabits a wide range of vulnerabilities: crepuscular scavenger, torture porn survivor, hibiscus assassin. Considering that our previous Croft could only be described by a handful of terms—all of which involved some number of mammary glands—this range of character seems especially pertinent. (PC, PS3, Tomb Raider, Xbox 360)

I was never a real big fan of the old Tomb Raider games, but i finished up the new one last night & i was very very impressed! Usually when there is someting wrong with a game its a big thing that jumps out at you, the only thing i could consider wrong i would feel is basically nit picking there is nothing glaringly wrong with this game!

To me, this game is the perfect rental. Excellent to play through once, but after that, I'm not really interested in playing it anymore.

I was always a fan of Tomb Raider games. I tried playing this one but it was boring as hell to me. Just another shooter. Hardly any platforming and puzzles are rare and made for the stupid people.

I'm guessing not much went ring with the game as most reviews are giving it 9/10's.
stupid title I'd say. Didn't bother reading it.

I haven't played it but heard nothing but good things.
If anything went wrong, it'd probably be that it has no dinosaurs.

Dinosaurs are a staple to the Tomb Raider series and should always be included.

What's wrong is that the game is now more focused on shooting and less on platforming and puzzles. Which was not the case with this franchise. It's just another shooter now.

See, from my experiences, I'm inclined to disagree. Yes, there is a LOT more action in Tomb Raider 2013 than there has been in previous games, but platforming is still very much a focus, and while puzzles are fewer there are other elements that compensate IMO.
