Whatever Happened To... The Legacy of Kain

With the “Twilight” fervor/hatred dying down in recent months, it’s the perfect time to resurrect a video game vampire series that hasn’t been seen in quite some time. The “Legacy of Kain” series, developed first by Silicon Knights and later by Crystal Dynamics, spanned from 1996 to 2003. The events of the series were largely influenced or directly impacted by the titular character, Kain. At one time, Kain was a regular human being (a wealthy man or a noble, if memory serves) who was murdered and cursed to return to the living world as a vampire to seek revenge on his killers. These earlier events in the life of Kain were detailed in the first game, “Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain.” (Blood Omen 2: Legacy of Kain, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2, PC, PS2, PS3, Retro, Xbox)

If there's ever a franchise that deserves a reboot it's the legacy of Kain, awesome franchise.

I agree, they can really do a number on this series right now... I never got around to getting the 2nd ending from the 1st game now that i think about it.

Great franchise but you could argue gow offers a similar experience but legacy had great story ... I kinda tired of 20 min. Puzzles tho

I used to love playing Soul Reaver on the Dreamcast. It was okay on ps1 but it was so much better on a Dreamcast. The Dreamcast version sported much better graphics plus ran at 60 frames per second whereas the PlayStation Version only ran at 30 frames per second. Either way an amazing game that everyone should try.
