EA: Real Racing 3 Is Successful Despite Backlash, Freemium Is The Future

DSOGaming writes: "Real Racing 3 is perhaps the most impressive - visually - game we've seen in mobile devices and despite the negative critique it received from a lot of gamers, this F2P title proves to be quite a success with downloads that are over all previous Real Racing games combined." (Android, EA, Industry, iPad, iPhone, Real Racing 3)

Freemium is the future lol stupid idiots want to pay for every little thing just because its free play a tiny bit of the game! By the time they finish the game they'd have to take out a loan.

Just because everyone takes her for a trial runs doesn't mean she is the best. She just has easy access. Freemium is just a way in. Its not a perfect way to play a game. I hate the idea of buying every individual item in the game just to have decent stuff.

There is a reason Zygna bombed after awhile. They are doing okay, but they thought Freemium model they had was perfect.

Dont people usually gobble anything available on mobile phones and tablets as long as it stroke their ego and is pretty ?

I'm sure it might be some fun , but " it looks amazing for an android/iphone game" as the main argument doesnt work for me .

And you certainly wont win me over with the freemium model

" The vocal minority lashed out at freemium. We respect them and understand, but the market has spoken. "

Good for you EA , just keep burning those bridges and see if you got a safety net later on .

Some of us wont follow the herd because that's what currently popular

At least you can get hacks for these mobile games and not let EA get any money. The donut hack for Simpsons Tapped Out for example is well known.

Jailbreak FTW.

Gee, thanks very much mobile gamers...really appreciate you making this cynical cash-grab garbage a success. I hope you all drop your stupidly expensive phones in a sewer you dullards - get some sense and realise when you're being thoroughly gouged!!!
Idiots.

I actually bought RR 1 and 2. This one was free and I have no intentions of ever buying add ons that would end up costing me more than a retail game.
4.99 would have been a sweet price for the full game. They should have given us 2 versions. One that costs a one off fee and one that is based on freemium model or even better, just a demo.

Article states it sold more copies than combined sales of RR 1 and 2 . Well no chit , it was free . I bet the demo of RR 1 had the same amount of downloads . The article never stated how much money they made and hopefully it fails and it reverts back to P2P.
