IGN- Dead Space 3 Awakened Review

IGN:You should absolutely play Awakened if you’ve already beaten Dead Space 3. It’s one of the more original and memorable parts of Isaac’s story… which says as much about Dead Space 3 as a game as it does the quality of this DLC. The creepy atmosphere, the dementia, and the bite-sized story of devotion gone wrong stand out strongly against some of the more phoned-in story beats of the main game. Playing it did make me wonder why this style didn’t show up in the main story. I also wonder what would’ve happened had the themes of Awakened been expanded upon, but since Visceral's said that Awakened is the only piece of Dead Space 3 story DLC that's coming, I guess we’ll never know. 8.2/10

Glad to hear they put some effort into Isaac's character with this one.

So sad though. They crapped all over the story in 3. Made Isaac a lifeless automaton. Gave Ellie a boob job and delegated her to "the love interest." Made the actual narrative borderline incoherent.

So much of the game ruined in the name of ticking a few boxes on some ridiculous, corporate "AAA ACTION GAME" checklist that was supposed to "save" the series.

I kinda agree, Dead space 3 was very bad compared to the 2 others.

I dont think it was "bad" I think it was a very good game. But it was missing alot of its horror. I knoe its kinda sad but I heard the DLC is suppose to be really horrified! Cant wait. Even though it was more "actiony" I thought DS3 was awesome. Last chapter and all. Friggen hated those giant things that charged you though. Seriously what the hell? Like 50 of them in the last 4 chapters!

Wow, this overpriced DLC for less than an hour of content has been almost unanimously bashed by every website and magazine on the planet, except for IGN. Evidently absolutely nothing about it was interesting except the very end.

I've heard this DLC was blatantly taken out of the game.
People shouldn't support it.
