Dead Island on PS4? 'We'd be stupid not to' says Deep Silver

Deep Silver "would be stupid to not be looking at" bringing Dead Island to other platforms - including PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's next-gen Xbox - the publisher has told VideoGamer.com. (Dead Island, Dead Island Riptide, Next-Gen, PS4)

I want to see the game actually not be a big letdown, not buggy as hell, non clunky gameplay, and not be a disappointment. All the game was, was a wasted good idea and the devs get way to much credit for that mess they call a game. The sad part is, is that the sequel looks like the same exact crap.

I disagree, I thought Dead Island was a solid Co-op game, I got use to the clunky controls rather quickly but I remember not enjoying the game at first, I have played the game quite a bit with my girlfriend. We have beaten the game about 2 and a half times and I think our only complaint would be a horrible story line and repetitive missions, but the game is a blast to play with friends, playing alone however is a different story, I do not enjoy playing Dead Island alone, as a single player game I would agree that it would be crap, but as a Co-op game it is amazing and where it truly shines :P

Who do you Vodo B*%@h!!

nice to hear developers being so interested in my future console!

It seems like every game will find its way on the PS4, thanks to the easy development. We will be enjoying some masterpieces this year and next year. Bring it on.

Could also be counter-productive to some extent. Some developers won't get the most from the system if they port to PS4 which might result in sub-standard games (no need to optimise).

On the flip side so many games will find their way onto the PS4 that you will be spoilt for choice.

Not really. I say they dumb it down...and release it as a free game for iOS with loads of micro-transactions.

Just like Final Fantasy.

Things are truly looking up for the PS4, I've never been so sure about buying a console ever, roll in that developer support! and I'll roll in some cash for more third party titles.

The games shouldn't be gimped anymore.. which just makes my confidence in buying third party games much, much more solid.

While I'm happy that More developer support is coming in for Next gen consoles, I simply can't get excited for Deep Silver's work.Quite Frankly Dead Island's potential was squandered when they failed to carry a strong narrative! I honestly felt the game from its amazing intro trailer was going to explore to great lengths the human relationships, interactions and choices faced in an epidemic a game where the zombies are prevalent but not the focus, where true survival is done well. But what we got was just a game about being a walking tank on an island looting dead bodies for cash and mowing down hordes of zombies, this could have been called Dead Rising or Left for Dead 3.

It's why I don't care for Deep Silver's games and would not bat my eyes at anything they create in that genre!

Left 4 dead is hard you are far from being a tank and is pretty much a survival game. Do not compare this mess to l4d. As bad as the narrative was the main problem was the terrible ass gameplay.

Dead Rising is awesome tho!!,I actually like dead rising better than dead island to be honest.. I can see from reading your post why you where disappointed, after watching the trailer you would assume more from an emotional stand point of the game in which it lacked in every way, but I still enjoyed it.

Edit:
@Lawson72

that's not true Lawson, if you play versus in L4D2 you can play as a tank :D so technically... lol jk
