Is Ubisoft Really Guilty Of "Annualization" With Assassin's Creed?

When we refer to "annualization," we make it sound as if the developer spends less than a year making a new franchise entry. But that's not really true. (Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Dev, Industry)

The thing about the Assassin's Creed series is that it has a 1,000 plus employees working on the series, unlike a lot of other titles that have yearly releases... Hell, even the best selling series Call of Duty doesn't have that many combined employees working on their games. The difference with Assassin's Creed games and the Call of Duty games is that the Assassin's Creed games have always felt like improvements on the series in many aspects unlike the Call of Duty, which I have been let down with with each release (my opinion obviously).

I love the story of the Assassin's Creed series, so I've always felt I've got more out of those games than I ever have with Call of Duty. It all comes down to how each individual person feels though. Just enjoy whatever series you enjoy. That is what matters.
