An Episodic Approach to The Legend of Zelda Might Actually Be a Good Thing

GenGAME writes: "A recent interview with Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that the Oracles games were originally intended to be released in “episodes.” I suppose inevitably the two-game setup wound up being technically episodic in nature anyway, but under the original concept, players would have bought the game in chunks of maybe one or a few dungeons each.

"With the growing role of digital downloads and game patches, Nintendo’s thinking about how this approach might be relevant for future games. Of course, we’re already seeing them expand Mario with new levels – the New Super Luigi U DLC for Wii U’s flagship Mario title is the first step in this direction – but it’s entirely possible that they could think about ways to reincorporate the “episodic” concept for the next Zelda title." (3DS, The Legend of Zelda, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Wii U)

At first i was hell no but after reading, I think if done properly this could be a really good thing for maybe not zelda series but maybe one of nintendos other series like metriod. But hell even if zelda got this treatment if done correctly i can see it being for the better.

They should've done this for Super Paper Mario.

For Console it needs to be one game.

For 3DS It would be cool if they released a 3 part game like how the Oracle games were originally intended.

* AlttP style sprites but updated and sharper quality

* 1 would be OoT style

* The 3rd game would be the more puzzle focused and have an original art style unlike any other in the game.

I really think that's better to sell games that are finished.
But it's way better if they still can be improved/expanded.

I completely agree that the focus should not be on size, but on quality and fun like in Majora's Mask. I had so much fun with that game and spend at least 100 hours on that game. That made it for me the biggest and best game of the zelda series. The value is the thing you give to the game, not the thing the game gives to you. There must be room and time for exploration. The ''time pressure'' of the 3day cycle in MM is also the most genious way of creating infinite time while keeping the tension high. Wanna just roll around goron style until the dawn of the final day? no problem just reset the whole thing.

It is the best game ever. Can talk about it forever.

Make a sequel to MM
