10 Games That Will Kick Your Ass

Cheat Code Central's Jenni Lada writes: "Many people lament the loss of “Nintendo hard” games. But if you’re willing to look for them, you’ll find that not all the insanely challenging games are way back in the NES era. If recent years are any indication, developers understand that we actually do want games that kick our asses. We want to be tested. We want to throw our controllers through our HDTVs. So if you need to be brought down a few pegs, you should spend some time with the ten following games." (Dark Souls, Demon's Souls, DmC: Devil May Cry, Fallout: New Vegas, I Wanna Be The Guy, PC, PS3, Super Meat Boy, Xbox 360)

Note: Hardcore mode did not and does not make Fallout harder.

It just adds a food/drink component, which I guess you could say is harder, but it's not in the same "dimension" as the main game. It doesn't make gunplay scarier, or anything--it just means you need to be cognizant of your inventory.
