Why you'll be broke at the end of 2013

From big-name hits such as Devil May Cry, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and Tomb Raider to even bigger misses (Aliens: Colonial Marines), 2013, while still in its infancy, certainly isn't easing into what is set to be the most stellar array of games and consoles we've seen in a very long time - if ever. (Android, Next-Gen, PC, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Damn, I'm broke already with the easy access to the PS Vita online store and all the price cuts being shoved in my face. Just can't resist a good bargain!
reynod  +   537d ago
Steam & Greenman Gaming discounts enough said. Gaming couldnt be cheaper.
chadboban  +   537d ago
Planning to get a Vita and Wii U by the end of the year.
And my games list, oh god my games list is packed as it is already

Just to name a few of the games incoming games I want

The Last of Us
Luigi's Mansion 2
Bioshock Infinite
Wind Waker HD
Metro: Last Light
Pikmin 3
Soul Sacrifice
Monster Hunter 4 (whenever it gets localized)
Shin Megami Tensei 4 (whenever it gets localized)
Bravely Default (whenever it gets localized)
Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney (hopefully it gets localized)
Mario and Luigi 4
The Wonderful 101
Rayman Legends
Watch Dogs
The Last Guardian (please release this year, if at all)
Final Fantasy Versus XIII (same as Last Guardian)
Grand Theft Auto V
The Witcher 3
Pokemon X and Y
Bayonetta 2 (hoping for a release this year)
Monolith Soft's "X"(know it's not coming this year but GODDAMN I WANT IT SO BAD!)

And there's still SO MUCH I haven't even named
I've said it before and I'll say it again, 2013 is gonna be AMAZING! no matter which systems you own.

This article is right, I'm gonna be sooooo freaking broke.

Hopefully getting a Vita myself post-price drop. Too much to buy, too much to play it seems. Did I mention I have a list of games I still need to finish? Yeah, that's brilliant. I will be one poor soul after the end of this year.
Deku-Johnny  +   537d ago
Great list, spanning all platforms. This is a true gamer's list.
ATi_Elite  +   537d ago
Nobody is buying the Nvidia Shield, Razer, or Ouya

I'm broke at the end of the year for the same reasons every year..........

That Gosh Darn Steam Holiday Sale!!!!!
rrquinta  +   537d ago
Not to mention titles like Luigi's Mansion 2, Animal Crossing, SMTIV, Soul Sacrifice, Pandora's Tower, and more...
Donnieboi  +   537d ago
SMT IV was confirmed to come to the West this year?
chadboban  +   537d ago
Well it IS Atlus we're talking about here. Not too sure we'll get it this year but it would be lovely if we do.
Conzul  +   537d ago
Yeah I'm getting a 62" to go with PS4, not counting launch titles and worthy accessories, stand, the works.

There will be no dough left :-(
Cam977  +   537d ago
Grand theft auto: V, Killzone: Mercenary and many more! It's going to be great!
Jek_Porkins  +   537d ago
I already have $500 set aside for a next gen console, I'd like to get both the next Xbox and PlayStation, but if they are more than $400 each I will only be able to get one.

With GTA5, Destiny and a new Assassins Creed coming out, I'm more then broke.
DivineAssault  +   537d ago
yes, this year will drain my wallet.. so many games plus a new console to buy with accessories.. I will be very careful about what i purchase this year.. Its going to be too expensive to waste money on a half assed game
SlapHappyJesus  +   537d ago
Building a pc.
Buying a PS3 (yes, a Playstation 3. Not Four.)
The games to go along with the playstation
Metro:Last Light
Many more that I won't list because they are later in the year

Yeah, and that's just my gaming budget. My bank account is going to hate me.

Oh no!
The N4G community 'disagrees' with the way I spend my money! Was it the PS4? It was the PS4, wasn't it? Maybe the fact that I prefer PC gaming. Well, shucks.

Why mention ps4?
SlapHappyJesus  +   537d ago
Perhaps I was trying to stop the flow of "don't you mean PS4?" comments?

Pretty sure no one would jump to that assumption since the system has no price point or release date.
Kietz  +   537d ago
Props for being honest.
Bubble for being funny about it.
cervantes99  +   537d ago
Don't you know that we all know how to spend your money better than you?

Come on now, your gaming choices don't match mine so you must be wrong :)

Roper316  +   537d ago
I agreed with you, it's your money & you should game the way that makes you happy. I also recently picked up a PC to game on but at this point I'm choosing not to buy the nextbox instead. I will be getting a PS4 though.

MS would really need to blow me out of the water with core games to get me to even consider their next console.
cervantes99  +   537d ago
I agree with you. MS will have to wow me, but even then they have shown that they will abandon their core audience in a heartbeat - just look at Xbox and Xbox 360.

Burn me once shame on you. Burn me twice shame on me. Likely not going to happen a third time.

Get the GOW SAGA
SlapHappyJesus  +   537d ago
I am buying this purely for first-party.

Grabbing the lot of them, for the most part.
MrWonderful  +   537d ago
I already have 2 jobs so i may need a 3rd part time one to save up the funds
cervantes99  +   537d ago
With 3 jobs you would have no time to even play games - that's madness!
MrWonderful  +   537d ago
first of all the system isnt out yet and secondly its working to save up the funds for the launch and the games i want to buy not to work 3 jobs all year.
yeahokchief  +   537d ago
I managed that for about 2 months until i said f it and went back to working over time at my first job. Wasn't worth the few extra hundred bucks a week. Mostly did it for the experience anyways.

I bought all my games for this year last year and I don't plan on buying a PS4 until it has a Rockstar game out for it so actually I don't plan on spending any more money.

Spoilers: I won't
NateCole  +   537d ago
I am already broke but the gaming bliss is worth it.

Been playing heart of swarm alternating with GOW4
RedSoakedSponge  +   537d ago
no doubt! im broke at the start of 2013, soooooo.....
PooEgg  +   537d ago
I won't be broke due to gaming, because too many gaming companies have gotten greedy lately, and that has resulted in me fighting back the only way I can, by protecting my wallet. No more pre-orders for me, and unless the game can prove to me day 1 that it is really worth $60 I won't be buying it until it drops in price.
GEO9875  +   537d ago
Most games that were mention i dont care about, the only game i want in 2013 is gta v so no, i wouldnt be broke. Lol
StrongMan  +   537d ago
I own a PS3 so with all the great exclusives and new IPs coming this year you know I'll be broke. I already bought Ni No Kuni and God of War Ascension and MLB the Show 13 is next.
TheOneEyedHound  +   537d ago
No way I could get broke, you don't broke me.
If I ever get broke I'll just sell my "Walking Dead #1 " or my soul.

A man will get LoU Survival Edition, Beyond Collector's Edition, and a Super Slim 500gb white PS3, KZ Shadowfall, and PS4. A man will wait till BF to get deals on Tomb Raider, Castlevania, Farcry 3, Budokai HD, and Puppeteer. He will then ask for GTA5, a second PS4 controller, Infamous, and Watch Dogs for Christmas to save himself the trouble.
BitbyDeath  +   537d ago
Picked up GoW today, will also get -
Last of Us; $80
Until Dawn; $80
Beyond: Two Souls; $80
Plants vs Zombies 2; $30
GTAV; $100
South Park (maybe). $100

PS4 - $700
2-3 launch titles - $240
extra controller - $100

Oh and i'll be renewing PS+ later in the year - $70
Roughly - $1580
NobleTeam360  +   537d ago
Where do you get your prices for 2-3 games on the PS4 and a controller? I'm guessing your getting limited editions of TLoU etc....
BitbyDeath  +   537d ago
Should mention i'm in Australia, these are our normal prices.
TechnicianTed  +   536d ago

Just out of interest, what's the average wage in Australia?
cedaridge  +   537d ago
I found it a lil easier if you just go on and payoff the game early you will leave room for other titles. Quick example Madden or NBA 2K come out in Aug & Oct, I will go on and get the cost out the way now. I hate to feel a since of stress when the game come up on me. Just sayin!
oIITSBIIo  +   537d ago
Not me . I'm not interesting in next G consoles + I'm waiting for 2 games only this year : Bioshock - Splintercell .
