Face Off: Tomb Raider VS Uncharted 3

The Game Effect breaks down both action adventure hits in six different categories to see which one comes out on top in a side by side comparison. (PC, PS3, Tomb Raider, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, Xbox 360)

Here we go again. People will pick sides and then trash talk either Uncharted 3 or Tomb Raider, which is sad because both are great games.

well,
ps3 owners get to enjy both uncharted and TR
and that what matter most

Well we generally tried to just compare the two fairly in this article and not pick a favorite. We loved both games almost equally. What other people decide is their choice.

Both wouldn't exist without the other.

Though the new TR takes as much from Red Dead Redemption and Far Cry.

People, but it's true. Uncharted is inspiration from old Tomb Raider games and new Tomb Raider is inspired from Uncharted series.

Uncharted 3:

Over 5 million in sales
92 Metacritic score

No contest. But PS3 owners can play both so we don't have to compare.

Well, if you are the only one that can play both, you are the only one that should compare them.

Uncharted 3 all the way .

Uncharted 2 > Tomb Raider > Uncharted 1 > Uncharted 3
lovegames718  +   486d ago
Crysis versus killzone lol we all know how that turned out with Killzone looking better and outperforming Crysis 2 according to many including digital foundry

The same here Uc2 blows all these out the park and Uc3 was not a better follow up to Uc2, but competent enough.

Its usually ppl that aren't afforded the privilege of playing Ps3 exclusives that come and talk this nonsense.

Both are masterpieces.

I'd be more interested in a face off between Lara and Chloe.
BitbyDeath  +   486d ago
Or is that a face on?
SeanScythe  +   486d ago
The fact they gave Graphics to TR shows they have no clue what they are talking about.
indiejones  +   486d ago
Actually we found the graphics to be a draw. Both are gorgeous games and each one does some things better than the other. Thanks for reading anyway!

Tomb Raider wins in the "microscopic detail" department however, with brilliantly rendered artifacts and buildings.

Did you even play Uncharted 3 before you played TR? Maybe you forgot the amount of detail that is put into uncharted.

tomb raider's gameplay and story telling is almost identical for what uncharted is known for. Also at least to me uncharted seems way more fun than tomb raider.

Be cool if there was some uncharted tomb raider crossover, like in the form of co op dlc or something.
