Famitsu said Gundam Breaker, the Gundam model fighting game, will be out on June 27 for PlayStation 3.
Please don't use a word like "crash" around computer products... Second to worst is that this game wont leave JP, while its likely costs $100.
I wonder why Gundam games aren't released outside Japan anymore (well, the last one was the Gundam Dynasty Warriors game a few years ago). The PS2 had a Gundam game. So why not release these games here? I'm not sure how popular Gundam is outside Japan, but if a a developer like NIS is able to continue selling niche games like the Disgaea franchise, I'm pretty sure a Gundam game would do at least decent outside Japan.
I love me some robot games, but the sad truth is that Gundam games don't really sell well in the west anymore. I'm forced to import games like Gundam EXtreme vs. and Another Century's Episode R...Initial D too...
Any reason why Gundam games don't sell anymore? Is it because the Gundam franchise just isn't popular (anymore) outside Japan, or is it because there are barely any games focused on giant humanoid mechas? I don't remember games like Dynasty Warriors selling like crazy, but they're still being made, and even released outside Japan.
Yeah is because the stupid Call of Duty and the FPS Genre.
Same reason they don't distribute videos overseas: Bandai's gotten greedy. They'd rather gouge loyal fans on imports than chance increasing that same audience.
