EDGE - “I didn’t want to see it done in a way I didn’t think was right,” says Irrational Games creative director and co-founder.
“You know what? I don’t need to compromise’. I had the [Bioshock] world, and I didn’t what to see it done in a way I didn’t think was right.” If only all directors who make movies based on video games thought this way.
Its pretty hard to believe that somewhere in the development process on the Mario and Streetfighter movies, someone didnt stand up and say, "Hey, should we really be doing this? It feels so wrong."
money that´s how. ken levine wants good quality results.
I really respect Ken Levine he's a good guy! I don't think video games need to be made into movies most of them are movies already interactive movies :)
No movie would have been right unless levine was able to oversee the entire project. Sometimes we dont need movies. We just dont. He is such a perfectionist that its hard making games for him, i cant imagine how he would ever sign off on a movie. I read somewhere that someone making infinite was asked what he or levine thought of bioshock 2 and he said they had never even talked about it. Really?
I'm glad the movie isn't happening. The best way to enjoy bioshock is with a controller in your hand, no director on earth could reproduce the experience that you get with the game.
