It's an assumption that the next xbox will even have AC4. If you look at the end of the trailer for AC4, it says PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Wii U, and that's it. No mention of the next xbox, however PS4 made it onto the trailer that got leaked initially. It's entirely possible that there won't be a next xbox this year, with AC4 not being developed for it. There may also be plans for a version of AC4 that later comes out that isn't planned yet, just like when PS3 got later versions of 360 games with extra bonus content, you could see that for the next xbox as well with AC4.
In other words, don't read into it too much until you have the final announcement.
I think i will skip this console generation im having too much fun on Pc. 49 Steam games and i havent put a dent in finishing them all. Those 10 dollar steam sales really cant be resisted.
@MariaHelFutura I think what miDnIghtEr20C_SfF means is MS will push the next xbox and COD over the xmas sales as COD sells better on the xbox than Playstation.
Im gutted that I wont be getting a PS4 or Next Xbox until 2014 but I think it will be interesting to see how both Sony and Microsoft try and push there new consoles over the Holliday season as well as to see what Nintendo do to.
Bungie kinda outed that. They stated Destiny would be a launch PS4 game and would launch day and date with the PS3 game....coming out in November. So....if you clearly get what they mean, it means PS4 will be out for Destiny's launch and Bungie clearly knows it.
I was expecting November after what Bungie said anyways.
Gonna say this at launch while I am waiting in line: Better with PS4 than Kinect with Xbox Next. Take your Kinect and shove it lol!!! The Fanboy war begins, and I just started it. I kid I kid lol!!! But I will get the PS4 first. What I expect Microsoft to show us at E3 is games!!! game exclusives that show the power of the system, not just time exclusive content and etc. I want to see Killer Instincts 3(Microsoft renewed the trademark),Perfect Dark 2, Kameo 2, and more new Ips for core gamers, not just Kinect. If they want every game with Kinect at least make it worth buying. I am going to take the dayoff work and wait in line lol!!! Can't wait.
Hope it works this time. If it doesn't work than go to google.com and put in Killer Instinct trademark refused and you should find a bunch of articles about it.
Sorry for the broken links. i didn't read carefully that joystick was spelled like joystiq
Edit: forget it whatever link i provide fails when it stated that link was it when i was looking at the web page originally Just go to http://www.google.com and in the search bar, just put in Killer Instinct trademark refused and you should find it
I google it, but the article state that the United States Patent and Trademark Office rejected it, however all Microsoft has to do is provide more evidence that Killer Instinct, came out before some fox show with the same name. Microsoft have six months to respond. Guess what... It has not been six months yet. Six months is when E3 starts.
Speaking of Nintendo fans, I think true "Nintendo" fans will be more than fine to stay the course with their system. That said I think there are many first adopters of the WiiU (they ones that just wanted something new) who might have more than a little buyers remorse at this point.
I wonder if we might see a flood of WiiU trade in's come holiday?
Ha. Justify. That's funny. I have a Wii U because I wanted to get one. I couldn't care less what people think of my purchases.
The Wii U currently has some fun games on it, and soon the software drought will be over and we can look forward to more coming this year. I'll pick up a PS4 because I want one, and will enjoy the games on that as well. 720 I'll decide when they show me something that I feel is worth picking up the system for.
I can tell you get more enjoyment over belittling other people's decisions rather than playing games though, so have fun with that come November.
Most of the problems with Sega's Saturn launch was that no one was expecting it in the retail or development chain. It left them completely unprepared, and it was hard to find a Saturn the first month after release.
While I doubt MS would say "It's available starting next week"(or something similar), it is reasonable to assume that if they were to do so they would have developers and retailers ready for such a thing to avoid the same catastrophe Sega faced. If such was the case, there would be no way to stop the rumors before the event, as product would have to be shipped out well ahead of time, and you can't trust retail to keep it's mouth shut.
A November release is possible, and knowing Ubisoft with AC, they would want to release the game on both systems.
@ Wikki- The difference is the 360S is a redesign to an already established console, how can you compare that to a newly fresh console like the Saturn at the time when it was an unexpected release to a console that hasn't met sales and didn't have an instal base, nobody knew the Saturn was out, that costed Sega dearly and prompted them to work on the Dreamcast, if it wasn't for that, Sega would still be doing consoles by now. The 360S is pretty much a 360 on a diet!
@ Munky Wouldn't surprise me either; just to say "first" again.
OT
I grow tired of these "I have 100% confirmed news that I thought up last night to get fanboys riled up..." I'd rather hear from the main source, AND see what launch games they have.
Not weighing in on whether the strategy is positive or negative, I was just saying that I have a feeling that they might announce that it will be available right away. They did it with the 360 slim, and Balmer has said that MS has taken a new company policy to release products as soon as they announced... So if they are revealing it at E3, it would make sense for them to release it shorty after and not to wait until November.
The 360 Slim has the same internals and plays the exact same games as the previous 360 so it was a smart move. And Ballmer never said they will release products as soon as they are announced. What he said is that they will release products not too long after they have been announced ie Windows Phone 8 and Surface were released 3 - 4 months after they were unveiled.
The same will go for the next Xbox. Announce sometime E3 then release in time for the fall season.
they will never try that strategy you suggest because Sega did the exact same thing with the Sega Saturn in 1994 and the console was a catastrophic flop.
Nyeah... I don't give a r@ts @ss to be honest. It'll come out when it comes out, and I'll 100% buy it. I'm not one who invests much into all the wild speculation or hype given to the next gen consoles. That being said, I still take an interest so I read a lot of articles, but at the same time I don't get all hyped up or bummed out with every piece of info.
And the gaming market is much different then when the Saturn was around, so that is a moot point. Everything else you said I can agree with. On that note, it's nice to have a debate with someone without having to resort to the low brow shenigans that go on here at N4G. Peaz
@Munky, You clearly don't give MS enough marketing credit. If there is one thing we know, MS knows how to market their systems. No way would they not create a massive campaign to build up hype before launch.
According to a large Dutch online store the PS4 is listed as available on 13-11-2013. Which seems a reasonable date to me, the site I'm referring to is Bol.com
MS needs to show an actual commitment to the core gamer! If all's they have to show with the new system is more Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable & Kinect crap and a bunch of MP games they can keep it. GeoW: J is the 1st 360 game I preordered/bought since Halo Reach and I only bought that because I played the other 3 not because I felt it was a must have game, it's not even be done by Epic anymore so what does that tell you when they put their current biggest franchise is someone else's hands. It tells me it is a old stale franchise that even the creators don't want to work on anymore.
" it's not even be done by Epic anymore so what does that tell you when they put their current biggest franchise is someone else's hands."
What are you talking about. First, Judgment is a side story/sort of prequel in the Gears Universe and it is not the main game. Second, People Can Fly was bought out by Epic so they are indeed part of Epic. Third, People May Fly made the very underrated Bulletstorm; great game. Epic is currently working on The next Trilogy in the Gears Saga for the X720, that is pretty much guaranteed at this point.
Just because they might have a Kinect 2.0 or entertainment along with games package doesn't mean they don't care about core gamer's.
Black Tusk Studios is working on 4 brand new IP's for their next gen console though, so there's that if you are so inclined.
Obviously people here at N4G will complain if Microsoft shows anything but "core" games, but Sony brought out the Move and showed off their new social network and nobody seemed to mind. Microsoft will need to show off everything they can to attract as many different consumers as possible.
being owned by Epic and being Epic games are 2 different things. It should matter if it's a side game or not & I enjoyed Bulletstorm btw but my point stays even Epic didn't want to make a 4th game for the 360 so they gave it off to one of their subsidiary studios to do.
"Black Tusk Studios is working on 4 brand new IP's for their next gen console though, so there's that if you are so inclined"
Well that would depend, is it 4 Kinect garbage games or actual core games? And yes Sony does have the move & movies and does spend sometime in that marlket but they always have new core 1st party games to show. When was the last new core IP that MS 1st party released?
They are looking to release the next "Halo", not an actually Halo game, but a franchise as large as Halo or Gears. So it sounds promising, I know Microsoft hasn't really brought it at the end of the Xbox 360's life as far as new IP's are concerned, but I can understand it if it means we'll get great launch titles for the next Xbox.
Well holidays are usually late November and all of December so this makes sense. Now it just depends on the price of these beasts and I'll likely have a choice to make. Already bought a Wii U at launch, I love to buy launch consoles, always have, but cant afford two $500 consoles.......
I thought sony made them say "Oh, shit, time to arrange our next gen console" They didn't expect sony to reveal their next gen console, so, i'm not sure of that.
Lol that was pretty epic. And the attendants got it the same day for free. Microsoft has mad money. If it was legal they could just buy Sony and stop producing playstation. Not hating or something I'm just saying.
PS4 DAY 1..
Nextbox needs to sway me to make me buy it. I couldnt afford a PS3 at launch.. and Gears tempted me to take the plunge.
So, its OFFICIAL, 2013, the TRUE year of the Next Gen!
PS4, Xbox Next, Wii U ...all expected to be great experiences. But remember that's all they are..entertainment experiences.
...But for some, it would seem video games are all they have in their lives. Treat games as they should be, a past time. Don't waste your lifetime being distracted from reality by staring at pixels all day long.
I expect many disagrees from the 'sheep' community ;/
if thats the case this time i might just import one.
That day alone will account for 5% of it's total sales.
In other words, don't read into it too much until you have the final announcement.

In all seriousness, that developer probably knows little more than we do.
yea yor wrong

On topic: November is going to be a great month for gamers!!!!
The ign comments section has trabformed recently however; it seems a lot more chilled out than before and fanboys do tend to get shot down.
Here is the link: http:/www.ign.com/articles/201 2/12/04/killer-instinct-tradema rk-renewel-refused
I heard nothing else about it so they never settled the issue yet so a Killer Instinct 3 is unlikely at this point

LOL November is going be a month of trolls and fanboys on N4G.
I wonder if we might see a flood of WiiU trade in's come holiday?

Greenpowerz is going to be on a delusional frenzy during those months lol
And yeah everything is pointing to a Nov. release for ps4, yes!!!!!

Show me something!

bring on next gen....its been such a looooooong last gen with ps3/360
finally.....bring it!
Taking money away from the main company to pour into a less profitable division doesn't bode well with investors.
Then again, neither does Windows 8.
I'll have my popcorn bags stocked and ready XD
"When asked if there will be a delay between 'all the versions' of the game's release, Guesdon replies: “Same ship”"
Title is hyperbole, should be classed as rumour as this doesn't say anything about new consoles releasing by November.
Nextbox needs to sway me to make me buy it. I couldnt afford a PS3 at launch.. and Gears tempted me to take the plunge.
