Activision is set to introduce microtransactions to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
"NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOO OOOO!" Irrelvant.. Console gamers.. Cant get enough of COD.
You guys can't get enough of Sim City or World of Warcraft. Also, CoD is also on PC. /troll.
I play Cod on PC from time to time. The crowd on there isn't any better than the console Cod crowd. Okay, they're a lot better at aiming, but thats about it.
TopDude Aiming is pretty easy with a Keyboard and mouse. So easy in fact my Wife would have higher accuracy then the avg console gamer. Semi bragging about aiming on a PC is funny. Not really attacking you if it came off that way just thought it was funny enough the way you said it to warrant a response.
Black ops blows
lmfao. then end has come.
It's the end times! Two pieces of the same shit finally met each other! CoD and microtransactions, what could be prettier?
So many casuals are going to be buying these -_-
So many retards are going to be buying these -_- fixed.
the world is full of em.
'Nother one born every minute... As my pappy used to say.
There is no more gaming world peach after this announcement. Is microtransactions the new DLC for next generation?
Just when you thought EA were clearly way ahead in the lead when it came to upsetting customers and committing corporate suicide, Activision come steaming up behind to share the limelight.
You guys don't seem to like COD that much, also the micro transactions are actually worthy of the 2$ they cost. I would love 10 more custom weapons slots or some bacon on my guns. Also it's only 1 dollar for some calling cards which is very acceptable. People need to grow up from hating COD. Yes they have done shit things, but at least they are fixing the wrong things. They are giving away NukeTown 2025 for free for ever which in my eyes is a respectable thing to do. Nice job Treyarch.
Respectful? I'm sorry, I enjoy playing COD a lot, but that is ANYTHING but respectful. What happened to the " only those who per-order blackops 2 will get the nuke town map " Basically Backstabbing those people who pre-ordered the game ( and the nuke town incentive was one of the primary reasons for me getting it early ) is anything but respectful.
Wait, wait, wait, so you don't want people to get free DLC?
when COD lost 3rd person in MW2 the game became trash. I no longer support COD because of this reason. 3RD person was amazing and just because they only had around 15k dedicated players they dropped it.
Oh, they giving you a map for free? HOW NICE! It is supposed to be free!
Hold on, you just slated real racing 3 for having micro transactions, flip flop much?
People are up in arms about this, but it's OPTIONAL and doesnt effect gameplay or balance. This is a business practice, not some agregious case of selling an incomplete game and charging for the rest. These are'nt even things that everyone will want or need for the game.. It's not like they're selling extra weapons and perks here...we're talking about friggin' gun camos and player cards. And, if you play most of your games on the 360 like I do, most times when you buy DLC for other games you wind up with some unusable amount "change", like 160 MSP.. I'd much rather spend my leftover change on in-game items, rather than clothes for my Xbox avatar..
And nary a shit was given.
It has begun...
Really though who cares? If you don't like the idea of microtransactions in Black Ops 2, then don't buy anything. Hell I know most people on N4G don't like Black ops 2 so why even bother complaining, just wasting time on something that has no effect on yourselves.
Meh, we've been hearing how this and free to play games were the future on consoles and it looks like that might be the case. We see that F2P games are doing pretty well on consoles, Happy Wars on Xbox 360 has over 2 million downloads alone. Microtransactions aren't anything new, they have been on PC games for a while now, if you don't want to buy things, don't. I usually don't, but if I see something that piques my interest I'll give it a go. This news is neither here no there for me.
And so it begins.. it's not cool unless COD is doing it and succeeding.
Honestly, I am surprised it took this long. They're money whores. Who is surprised?
Still not as bad as what EA does, dunno why all the hate.
Isn't this also in Uncharted 3 aswell.....you can buy everything you havent unlocked if you want to. Plus only certain items you can get by buying them....no way to unlock them which is highly unfair.
People don't worry about this stuff when it's in games from their favorite developers. But when Activision and EA do it, "it's ruining the industry" lol. Micro transactions have been around for ages, even in console games. I'd rather have them than disc locked DLC and huge day one patches.
Nope, apparently it's only when it's EA. Comment sections across the web either don't care or are quite calm compared to the Dead Space 3 stuff. Double standards are stupid.
Oh man I can't wait to play™ Call of Duty® Black Ops 2™ with all my friends™ on Xbox® Live™ and have countless hours of fun™. I pre-ordered™ the Collector's Edition™ with the amazing Doritos® and Mountain Dew® Limited Edition™ at Gamestop™ with 5% discount thanks to my Kotaku™ Premium-Membership™. Just dew™ it.
Well i guess it's okay for those people who don't have enough time to sink in hours like some of the other players online. Otherwise i stand by the phrase "speak with the wallet" when it comes to micro-transactions.
So how long before the industry crashes? it seems every day it inches closer and closer to the cliff.
Where was this kind of hatred for Little Big Planet? Karting? PS Home? Fifa? Don't like? Don't buy. It changes your life in no way.
CoD Blows Nuff Said.
Who cares? It's just reticles, weapon skins and player cards....
To those saying this is just some optional customization...that's how it starts. I blame EA. They started this.
LOL, you guys are gonna get ripped. All the flag player cards and other reticules are from Black Ops 1 that were never put in the game. And 400 points for one map? Yikes. Milk it while u can, CoD is near dead once new consoles come out. Microtransactions affect the game and become a problem because things are stripped from the game that would've normally been in the game. If this stuff takes off they're only going to continue to strip from the game so the microtransactions become more enticing. you may get to the point where guns and even maps are stripped. The next CoD will release with only 10 maps and 10 guns LOL But you idiots that support this stuff fail to see that. I've already witnessed it, and it damn near killed the games.
Take my money Activision, I love playing cod with my Friends
