EU reportedly close to blessing Google-DoubleClick union

Google is about to clear the last significant regulatory hurdle standing in the way of its April 2007 acquisition of DoubleClick. Word on the street is that European regulators are about to give the $3.1 billion deal a big thumbs-up, clearing the way for DoubleClick's ad-serving business to be folded into the Google online monolith.
