Curse Blogger Explains Why League Of Legends Is Bigger Than Instagram (Q&A)

Forbes - League of Legends has over 70 million user accounts and over 32 million active users. According to Dhanish “DiffTheEnder” Semar, editor of leading Curse gaming site reignofgaming.net, Riot Games’ free-to-play game is growing at an exponential rate despite more competition from newer entries like Meteor Entertainment’s HAWKEN and Wargaming’s World of Tanks. Semar, who connects with over 8 million LoL fans a month on his site, explains why League of Legends has risen to the top of the eSports ladder over Blizzard Entertainment’s StarCraft II and talks about what opportunities the team-based game has opened up for companies beyond Riot and Major League Gaming (MLG) in this exclusive interview. Of course LoL is bigger than Instagram.

Instagram is not a business, there is no revenue, there's no possibility of revenue. Systrom didn't build a business, he built a product - and sold it once, to a desperate Facebook.
