I don't like these guys. They seem like they have no idea what they are talking about.

godfree4058d ago

Why? because we have a different opinion than you? If you don't like us then why click and reply our articles? Just saying..

parkerpeters4058d ago (Edited 4058d ago )

No, I agree with your opinions actually. Tomb Raider is a fantastic game, and the best entry in this fantastic franchise.

But the hosts of this podcast are very unprofessional sounding. Touting Camilla Luddington's only talent as being "hot" is just immature. She is an actress who has worked hard to get where she is today. This seems like something put on by Spike TV, or Maxim or any another sophomoric media puppet that has ties to big gaming corporations. If they aren't being paid by Square, EA, or Activision, they sure as hell should be. The reason I say this is because within minutes of the podcast, they have already plugged Uncharted and Farcry. Not to say that TR isn't related to Uncharted, but really, the comparison should be drawn between this entry, and older Tomb Raider titles. For instance, this entry is leaps and bounds above Legend in nearly every way, so one could say it is a successful reboot in that respect. But instead, the hosts jump on current contemporaries like Farcry that have little to do with Tomb Raider at all.

This isn't an attack on anyone in specific, and I am sorry if I offended you. If you are affiliated with this podcast, it wouldn't hurt to have a bit more professional tone is all I am saying. Critique comes with the territory.

THE TRUTH4057d ago (Edited 4057d ago )

Well in a prior podcast peterocc did spout his mouth off after the PlayStation meeting about how the PS4 having 8 gigs of ram is impossible. Yes, I'm still sour about that particular episode because it just seemed as though you guys went out your way to look for all the negatives and throw a wet blanket on any positives about what was shown.

I did enjoy this last podcast even though I'm really not a Tomb Raider fan it did serve to peak my interest on this new game.

godfree4058d ago

Hi Peter, that was me. Did you even listen to the whole episode? Your post - "Touting Camilla Luddington's only talent as being "hot" is just immature." is a lie. Listen to the whole episode we gave her props and mentioned during our review & interview that she's very talented. we talked about her talents more than anything. I think she's amazing and very humble.

There's nothing wrong by saying that she's "hot". It's not what you say, but how you say it. This is my first time since 2005 that I ever said that to a female guest (check our past episodes we have a long list of guests). I didn't see anything wrong with that at all.

So me asking if TR is anything like Farcry 3 is unprofessional? Its only 1 of the best games to launch in the past 6 months. I simply asked because I hadnt played Tomb Raider and was asking for a comparison. Did you even catch PaustinJ's response that in that Farcry is a great game, while TR is a great experience?

We weren't plugging anything. All we were doing was comparing great games in a similar genre. In fact, I'm a Call of Duty fanboy and am intrigued about the game and wanted to know more. I have no problems with critique and your opinion has some validity. But to state that we are unprofessional by comparing the product to other similar products is just wrong.

greenpowerz4057d ago (Edited 4057d ago )

Parkerpeters is mad because one of you mentioned TR being better than uncharted. Parker says you guys don't know what you are talking about then goes on to personally attack you guys.

He simply doesn't like what you said about his exclsuive, nothing more. You shouldn't waste your time talking to people on this site LMAO

It bothers them that TR is being seen as being king of this genre again. It upsets them that it looks better than any exclusive/game on consoles which goes against what they've come to believe from years of pro PS3 hyperbole.

Al you can really do hear is call out their BS reasoning n4g members isn't possible

darthseth244057d ago

@greenpowers Just tell me how much is microsoft paying you to kiss their a$$.Everything that's positive about sony you try to turn it into a negative. Were you this negative towards sony when they kicked the stuffing out of microsoft last gen? A one year lead against sony and all they managed to do is stay even with them for 2nd or third place lol. This is who you praise?

BlueTemplar4057d ago

@greenpowerz so you've extended the definition of sony fanboy to cover anybody who doesnt like the people doing this podcast?

What next? Anyone who doesnt like cheese? People who drink tea rather than coffee?

She's naked in Californication, prety hot chick.

HarryMasonHerpderp4058d ago

Change the voice actor for the next game please.
Maybe an actor who has actually got an English accent this time.

Grap4058d ago (Edited 4058d ago )

she is from england u smarthead.
Edit: 8 years doesn't wash all the accent especially a grown women.

HarryMasonHerpderp4058d ago (Edited 4057d ago )

She is English but lived in America for 8 years and has formed a "mid-atlantic hybrid accent".
Read the personal life part

In other words she has a half American half English accent, and you if you are from the UK and in fact English like myself you can tell the difference my friend.

The Best Tomb Raider Games Ranked

We've gone on many adventures with Lara Croft. With another reboot in the making, Wealth of Geeks felt it was a good time to go down the nostalgia rabbit hole and remember the best of those tomb-raiding thrills.

I do agree that Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness was the worse one 😂 I remember playing some of it and I took it back. That game was just awful in every way. I bought it used at gamestop and glad they had that 7 day return policy for used games 😂

Pyrofire9553d ago

Would it be worth saying why?

ZeekQuattro53d ago

Simple. He's been hating on the Tomb Raider reboots for years. I can't imagine seeing them at the top of a best TR game list let alone being on the list in general sitting well with him because of it.

-Foxtrot53d ago

Zeek

“Hating”

No no, just pointing out how TR mutated into a generic action adventure game losing the appeal of what it once was when it was more about puzzles and platforming over going Rambo, slaughtering waves of enemies

But hey, continue being a dick and speaking about me like I’m not going to see the comment.

MeatyUrologist53d ago

Foxtrot, I'm curious if you have played the most recent games. Sure the 2013 reboot was hugely focused on combat, but each follow up became less and less about combat to the point where outside of a few large scale story missions I don't even remember combat being a part of shadow of the tomb raider. Shadow was so puzzle focused it actually was a bit much for me and I love the TR puzzles.

I still feel like Rise was the best of the series and I was a huge fan of the originals. To me it struck the perfect balance of exploration, platforming, puzzles, and combat. Not saying your opinion is wrong I'm just curious what you think they should have done different. Games do need to evolve somewhat to stay relevant. Would you prefer small linear jumping platform levels like the original?

RavenWolfx53d ago

I would agree Rise for 1 and the reboot as 2. Shadow is a bit high, though.

Sonic188153d ago (Edited 53d ago )

I think Shadow wasn't even develop by crystal dynamics. I thought it was the worse in the new trilogy

Pyrofire9553d ago

That's right. Shadow was developed by Eidos Montreal who who went and made Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy next. (Great game)
Meanwhile after Rise of the Tomb Raider, Crystal Dynamics made Marvels Avengers. (bad game)

MeatyUrologist53d ago

Agrees. First two are correct but Shadow should be around 5-6.

terstomp53d ago

For me, Legend should be alot higher (along with the other two ). Shadow, I enjoyed it, but has too much has fluff, as modern games tend to do. Playing the remastered series, and apart from the controls, is very good.

jznrpg53d ago

I really enjoyed the first 2 games, Legend and the first of the reboots and the rest I didn’t get into so I never finished.

robtion53d ago

Completely subjective list. I really liked Underworld, I preferred Lara's design. That said I loved the horror/uncharted feel of the reboot. I think all the TR games have strengths and weaknesses. None are objectively better in every way.
