To be fair, i think there were culture problems. He had some great ideas but the board, which i assume were mainly Japanese would never pass them because it would involve doing something new and outside their comfort zone.

This is also why Phil Harrison had to leave. He believe the way forward was through a connected world with online gaming and playstation home. The Japanese honestly didn't get it. They thought online gaming would never take off. Their devs have only started taking that spent seriously recently. I mean, outside of fighters how many top quality Japanese online games can you name? This is the sort of thing Stringer had to fight against.

One of the biggest reasons for Sony's current situation. Now that the cancer is gone, things should start getting back on track for Sony. Perfect timing too now that ps4 and Experia z are coming soon. Sony's primed for a comeback I feel.

To be honest he inherited a mess. He had to completely reinvent the company, and for a company that size it's a tall order. Kaz seems to be better at making moves than Stringer, but whatever Kaz does is built on what Stringer did. So there's that.
