I like how they're trying to blame the consumers though.
How about you fix the servers and keep all of them up, and make your game playable
The consumer isn't actually always right. Sometimes the consumer isn't as knowledgeable on the product as they seem to think they are. Saying, "the consumer is always right," is the equivalent of saying, "the consumer knows everything," which is just flat-out wrong. So, yeah. There's my rant on that damn saying.
Maybe you should learn what the damn saying ACTUALLY MEANS before posting your rant. It MEANS that the customer shapes the market through their decisions to buy/not buy your products and services, and that companies must always be ready to adapt.
@DwightOwen Have you ever worked in customer service? The meaning of, "The customer is always right," becomes apparent about 3 minutes into that. Sorry, but me saying, "Dude, I'm always right," doesn't at all relate to how my actions relate to the market. It doesn't. Just saying. Fin.
Not exactly "blame", but stated that so many players were having such a good time they didn't want to leave the game... which means that these baffoons behind the wheel should've anticipated this and thus either:
A: Pre-emptively set up more servers before the game launched.
B: Not utilize always-online DRM from the get-go.
The latter is obviously and always preferable...
That's a bad look. Just keep the PR in front of you and you'll be fine.
