Achievements: The Death of Old Games

Leviathyn.com | One of the biggest trends to hit gaming is to have achievements and trophies. While this is awesome, are achievements taking gamers away from old games? What incentive do they have to return? (PS3, Xbox 360)

Totally agree. Achievements take too much precedent these days, I've heard of some people not buying certain games because they don't give out easy achievements, or even worse, they know there will be achievements added to the game with DLC they won't be buying, in turn, taking their trophy progress for that game down from 100% to a lower number.
