BioShock: Infinite team wanted to get rid of Elizabeth

TGBuzz: The upcoming BioShock: Infinite almost never had one its main characters, Elizabeth, according to creative director Ken Levine. Elizabeth seems to have been a major annoyance for the BioShock: Infinite team after she was introduced to the game.

She was an annoyance largely due to the fact that she is friendly AI, and writing friendly AI is a pain in the ass if you want to balance it properly. The glitches with the friendly AI have been the reason this game keeps getting delayed, as it has proven incredicly difficult to balance and code for.

I think keeping her was a great choice. She looks like a Disney princess and I think she will be a new standard for games that have a sidekick/lady attached with you. I like what they have done with her, how she interacts with Booker, the world and the overall experience. Really looking forward to this game.

They never censored her. She changes into her corset later in the game and also cuts her hair. Its probably because its something that she wants to do for herself since she is a free girl now.

Im really glad they kept her in the game. She seems like the most amazing AI companion that has ever been created. Im also very intrigued by her story as well. This is my most anticipated game of the year for sure.

Elika in Prince of Persia. To this day the only videogame character I've ever had a crush on. I don't know about the complexity but that game was fun as hell.

You know, I'm not so sure her AI is as revolutionary as they're saying. Her going around and finding stuff to do in the environment on her own is unique from a storytelling persepctive, but what about gamplay?

She can toss you supplies when you need them, but that's not a new thing for AI NPCs. She can phase in objects to help you, but that's not something an NPC is necessarily required to justify. And that's pretty much it, as she doesn't help in direct combat. That's not innovative at all from my impression of these details.

You can combine your powers with hers when available. She can also alter the environment so you can have other fighting options available.

Maybe from a storytelling / integrating point of view
but not much in pure technicality. love the Character though.
