SimCity Is Unplayable So We Didn't Review It

When EA went on record a week ago stating that all future games under the company banner will feature micro-transactions, I was under the impression that EA is going out of their way to be hated by gamers. I tried to give publisher the benefit of the doubt during the Mass Effect 3 ending fiasco, even defending the ending for a while. But as it turns out, SimCity s controversial always-online requirement broke me and squandered any withstanding respect I still held towards the publisher (and Maxis for that matter). As a result, I sent in my copy to get a refund and will no longer be reviewing SimCity. (EA, Mass Effect 3, Maxis, PC, SimCity)

Poor Maxis, to have all that hard work ruined by one title that EA dragged through barbed-wire because some execs thought it was a good idea and their most influential employees have no spine to tell them the truth about what gamers will and will not be satisfied with...

...On the same token, Maxis had to have seen this coming and yet they didn't stop it.

Oh EA knew, they just didn't care.

Maxis and even the consumer doesn't need to tell them, it's botched the launch of so many games it's as well known as the sky is blue.

Ubisoft realized their error and got out of the always on drm crap.

EA wants to go full steam ahead.
