Hideo Kojima will be speaking at this years Games Developers Conference, about the Fox Engine and Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. He just finished a trailer for his new game (in all likelihood Ground Zeroes), which will probably be shown at GDC as well.

" He just finished a trailer for his new game, which will probably be shown at GDC as well"

That made my day.

Keep in mind that he didn't specify what games this is for, but it's very likely to be Ground Zeroes.

Edit: changed it to make it more clear (hopefully).

The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes = Metal Gear Solid 5 for PS4 !

Nyxus1235d ago

I think Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain are one and the same thing (could be called MGS5), and it will be released for current and next gen (enhanced version).

Fail...

The Phantom Pain = halo strategy mmojrpg adventure pinball game.

No, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes multiplatform. Not only Ps.

j-blaze1235d ago

i'm glad next Kojima game is going multiplat, but he need to switch to next gen to take full advantage of Fox Engine instead of releasing his game this gen

Nyxus1235d ago

He should just make two versions: one for current gen (it has a large user base) and one for next gen, with enhanced visuals and features. This shouldn't be a problem I think, because Kojima Productions explained the Fox Engine is easily scalable.

Baka-akaB1235d ago

it could very well be whats happening . Ground zeroes on current consoles then Phantom Pain on next gen

So have we all concluded he was outright lying when he said the demo was running on a ps3 spec'd PC? The graphics seem on par with Watchdogs. If it was running on hardware not far off this gen, I can't wait to see how the fox engine will look on ps4.

Nyxus1235d ago

I don't know, the lighting and rain effects looked great, but other than that GZ doesn't seem like a game that is impossible on current gen consoles. If it was next gen it would have looked even better, Kojima even pointed that out himself during the presentation of the demo.

The bump mapping and displacement on the rocks look beyond this gen though. Not by a long mile, but enough for me to confident that the PS3 version won't look like this. The fact it was being off on a PC made it obvious that Kojima intended as a cross gen title and showing it off as a current game is misleading in my opinion.

The last time ps3/360 based games were demo'd on PC hardware was pre-ps3 launch

jetlian1235d ago

both are next gen games. He may have a ps360 version but GZ and PP shown were next gen versions

Donnieboi1235d ago

Either way, no other game comes close graphically. Even TLOU can't touch the Fox Engine.
