What Sony Can Learn From Their Previous Mistakes for the PS4

TGBuzz: For all of the amazing devices that Sony Computer Entertainment has released over the years, starting with its original PlayStation back in 1996, to the PS2, PSP, PS3, and PlayStation Vita, they have also had their fair share of mistakes as well. With the highly anticipated planned launch of the PS4 later this year, here’s what Sony can learn from their previous errors to help maximize the sales of their future next-gen console.

The story is too old to be commented.

They did mistakes, not one but quite a few. Price was one of them, exclusive launch line up was another one and they pretty much got arrogant developing a very difficult system to work on for third party developers and I think they will address all of those mistakes at launch.

i don't think the price was a mistake. that price was more than fair for what you got: cheapest Blu-ray Player, Media Box and Game console. the mistake actually was using PS3 to trojan horse Blu-ray. that drove the price up...

now, there's no new media format to hawk, just Ultra-HD (4K) Blu-rays and streaming...

The line up for the first 6 months or so was HORRIBLE. Hence the constant digs at the PS3 having no games early on in its lifecycle.

Main mistake for me was the price but by the time MGS4 come about it was a lot more reasonable.

No? Because they are yet to make a profit for the generation. You sure they made no mistakes?

The "mistakes" were the high price in the beginning, the one year late launch and their marketing. Nothing else.
The PS3 has one of the most diverse and quality filled game catalogues EVER! PSN is a fine service and also FREE! PSN+ is by far the best value-for-money service a gamer can have!
Sony was also extremely unlucky this generation! The tsunami and the psn hack affected Sony a lot but they really bounced back stronger than ever! PS4 is shaping up to be "a gamers's dream come true" and i just can't wait! :)

Other than the extremely high price at launch (I know, I bought one at launch) IMO, the PS3 has done very well indeed. I'm happy with my PS3 just as I am with my 360.. both systems have games that I want to play and at the end of the day, that's all that's important.

Better advertising and stagger the big name games better. Other than PSN teething problems, the delayed launch for BR and arrogance over they're pricing of the PS3 they didn't do much 'wrong', just thought they're brand power would of been enough.

Don't even think about releasing Genji: Days of the Blade II, Sony!!! Even though I am pretty sure the Giant Enemy Crab will look fabulous on the PS4. Other than that, Sony was pretty good during the PS3 era.
