Matter, a Kinect game expected to launch on Xbox Live Arcade in 2013, has been cancelled by Microsoft.
Owch... Well done Microsoft, now you can use that money to fund a Kinect like movie service or maybe a Kinect entertainment app /s
what why?!?!?!? this was on my top games of 2013 list?!?
I know...they make an appealing game and then they cancel it. What is the actual point of that... I wouldn't mind if they had a ton of games incoming but they don't
Aww.. http://n4g.com/news/1013029... http://n4g.com/news/1013029... What happened? This marble rolling game was one of Xbox 360's big E3:2012 titles supposedly on par with The Last Of Us, God of War: Ascension, and Beyond: Two Souls. /s
"I know...they make an appealing game and then they cancel it. What is the actual point of that..." Did you actually see in-game footage? Because I never did, do you have a link? Would love to see what it actually looked like.
I missed the word "sounding" out
No more Matter, No matter(Lol.) MS still has F2P Ascend New Gods, Loco Cycle and State Of Decay still waiting for release. MS does have bigger projects at the moment.
microsoft cancels kinect game, not something you see everyday.
Jeez.. Can't even get Kinect stuff right nowadays. What happened to you microsoft?? :(
^^ An Xbox gamer lost faith in MS? Now that's interesting.
He is not an xbox gamer, he is ThatKansasGuy, or better known as Strongman alter ego. He switched his name a few day ago because he got busted.
They can cancel all kinect titles for all I care, Hopefully they will and focus more on core titles.
Exactly...that's why I left Xbox if they'd never got obsessed with Kinect, went crazy with entertainment and had more exclusives I'd loved to stay with Xbox.
well I'm still staying with Xbox until I see what they have to offer next gen, I still think xbox 360 is the better system. But If they don't release new ips and more core titles I might jump ship, But regardless I will own all next gen system including steam box and ouya. I will never allowe myself to be come a companies corporate sheep, I will never get on this site and dog one console in favor of another, now their fan boys that's a whole other story. And by the way I'm not saying you are a corporate sheep or fan boy I'm just speaking in general.
exactly. Kinct is lame and childish anyways. I wish they would focus on the core gamer and get more first party devs and some new IPS. M$ barely has any games to speak of Halo, Gears, Fable, Alan Wake that's really it. Xbox has become boring.
You are wrong Microsoft has plenty of games Conker, PGR, Kameo, Killer Instinc, Crimson skies, etc, etc, I go on and on with there back catalog, They just don't push them out, But hopefully all that will change next gen. And seriousl why is it every one keeps holloring the need more first party devs when they have over 20 studios you people should really need to do some research. United States 343 Industries – Halo series - (2 team studio - Concurrent development of Halo 4 and co-development of Halo Anniversary) Connected Experiences – Untitled Project – Design Large scale multiplayer title and help other first party studios Good Science Studio – Kinect Adventures, Kinect Fun Labs Kids and Lifestyle Entertainment – Next generation fitness project Microsoft Studios – Los Angeles – Next generation core cinematic title Microsoft Studios – Mobile Gaming – ilomilo Microsoft Studios – Redmond Publishing – Overseeing and co-developing multiple projects in conjunction with third party development studios Platform Next Studios – Next generation core title Playful Learning – Next generation family project Skybox Sports – Next generation sports project Turn 10 Studios – Forza Motorsport series - (2 team studio - Concurrent development of Forza Motorsports 4 and co-development of Forza Horizon) Twisted Pixel Games – The Gunstringer, LocoCycle - (2 team studio - Concurrent development of Ms. 'Splosion Man and The Gunstringer) Xbox Live Productions – South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!, South Park: Tenorman's Revenge, Avatar Kinect Europe Lionhead Studios – Fable series, Black & White series, Unannounced MMO-like New IP - (2 team studio - Concurrent development of Fable: The Journey, Fable Heroes and an unannounced next generation title) Lift London – Multiple Cloud Based gaming projects Rare Ltd. – Banjo-Kazooie series, Viva Piñata, Perfect Dark series, Kinect Sports series- (3 team studio - Concurrent development of various titles) Soho Productions – Kinect Sesame Street TV Press Play – Untitled Project Canada BigPark – Joy Ride series, Kinect Sports: Season Two Black Tusk Studios – Untitled Project - (an unannounced next generation title) Microsoft Studios Victoria – Untitled Project As you can see they have studios out the ass and some of the studios are multiple teams studios. So Why do they need more devs? Like I said you need to do your research and wait and see what these studios have to offer before Judging.
@whoyouwit04 "You are wrong Microsoft has plenty of games Conker, PGR, Kameo, Killer Instinc, Crimson skies, etc, etc" When was the last time a new game in any of those franchises was released or even announced? Theres a big difference between owing IPs and using them.
they never learn. "More kinect" lol
Why does the link take you to the website and not the actual story? Did anyone check the link? Or did people automatically come in to make jokes about Kinect?
I believe you answered your own question with your last question. :)
Must be too focused on the next Xbox to use up money and resources for what sounds like an expensive game. This happens, but only on N4G is it huge news, must mean doom for Microsoft.
First milo now this
It was only a "matter" of time before they did... ba dum tish.... It would have been interesting to see what a movie director would have done with the video game medium. Has a movie director ever done a game before?
Please fix link, i want to read the actual story.
Now if they would only cancel the rest. Sony should do the same for Wii 2 errrum...I mean Move.
That's funny, I mentioned this game in a comment a couple of days ago and I swear it was the first time it had been mentioned anywhere since E3.
