exactly what i didnt want...multiplayer dlc

Root4066d ago

It's horrible that they've said they are thinking about putting multiplayer in all future games...

How about a classic Lara skin or something.....or maybe a DLC with actual puzzles in where we raid Tombs something the game actually lacks despite being a TR game

Those optional raid tomb missions were terrible...they were short and easy

MysticStrummer4066d ago

"maybe a DLC with actual puzzles in where we raid Tombs something the game actually lacks despite being a TR game

Yet people say this game returns TR to it's former glory. lol

Tomb Charter

No swimmming, lack of tombs and puzzles, and regenerating health? That's not TR. I'm fine with cinematic games, but they have removed the things that made TR what it was, except for Lara herself.

I know

It's a fantastic game but it would of done better as a new IP

I don't see why people don't get that, people complain that devs are ruining old franchises and turning them into a shadow of their former self and then we give out good scores to these games.

I mean I'm not say Tomb Raider deserves a really low score but just a score and a review where you show the devs that if you didn't change everything about what give the franchise it's identity then it would of gotten a perfect score. It should be a key thing in reviews now along side music, graphics, gameplay...."does it hold up to past instalments". Same goes for the new dmc, it has good reviews and yet it's inferior to past dmc games....how does that work.

I mean having those as optional missions in the game is a slap to the face in my opinion. Raiding tombs is what TR is about....hell it's in the title "TOMB RAIDER". I don't want an Uncharted where we are tyring to find a lost city, I want to raid a load of different Tombs full of traps and puzzles to achieve a number of relics. They shouldn't of been optional missions in this game they should of been part of the main story, the puzzles aswell were easy, all you had to do on most of them was put more weight on something so you could get on it.

Reviewers are too soft these days, they let the brand name get in the way when reviewing it. If it dosen't feel like what the game SHOULD be about then give it a lower score and make it known so the devs can fix this in the next game.

multiplayer is already pretty dead, and yes if I have to wait a few minutes to get in a match it's dead to me

GNKillerbee4066d ago

Are you kidding Multyplayer is so much fun! Though they need to fix spawning because i was trapped in my spawn one match

infamousinfolite4066d ago

I'm in the very small minority here but I don't think MP in Tomb Raider works like it would for games like Gears, Killzone, Call of Duty, the like. It looks tacked on, IMO.

How about making a working game so I can play for more than 10 mins before it crashes.

Edit: three new multiplayer maps, really, how pathetic

The Best Tomb Raider Games Ranked

We've gone on many adventures with Lara Croft. With another reboot in the making, Wealth of Geeks felt it was a good time to go down the nostalgia rabbit hole and remember the best of those tomb-raiding thrills.

I do agree that Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness was the worse one 😂 I remember playing some of it and I took it back. That game was just awful in every way. I bought it used at gamestop and glad they had that 7 day return policy for used games 😂

Pyrofire9559d ago

Would it be worth saying why?

ZeekQuattro59d ago

Simple. He's been hating on the Tomb Raider reboots for years. I can't imagine seeing them at the top of a best TR game list let alone being on the list in general sitting well with him because of it.

Zeek

“Hating”

No no, just pointing out how TR mutated into a generic action adventure game losing the appeal of what it once was when it was more about puzzles and platforming over going Rambo, slaughtering waves of enemies

But hey, continue being a dick and speaking about me like I’m not going to see the comment.

MeatyUrologist58d ago

Foxtrot, I'm curious if you have played the most recent games. Sure the 2013 reboot was hugely focused on combat, but each follow up became less and less about combat to the point where outside of a few large scale story missions I don't even remember combat being a part of shadow of the tomb raider. Shadow was so puzzle focused it actually was a bit much for me and I love the TR puzzles.

I still feel like Rise was the best of the series and I was a huge fan of the originals. To me it struck the perfect balance of exploration, platforming, puzzles, and combat. Not saying your opinion is wrong I'm just curious what you think they should have done different. Games do need to evolve somewhat to stay relevant. Would you prefer small linear jumping platform levels like the original?

RavenWolfx59d ago

I would agree Rise for 1 and the reboot as 2. Shadow is a bit high, though.

Sonic188159d ago (Edited 59d ago )

I think Shadow wasn't even develop by crystal dynamics. I thought it was the worse in the new trilogy

Pyrofire9559d ago

That's right. Shadow was developed by Eidos Montreal who who went and made Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy next. (Great game)
Meanwhile after Rise of the Tomb Raider, Crystal Dynamics made Marvels Avengers. (bad game)

MeatyUrologist59d ago

Agrees. First two are correct but Shadow should be around 5-6.

terstomp59d ago

For me, Legend should be alot higher (along with the other two ). Shadow, I enjoyed it, but has too much has fluff, as modern games tend to do. Playing the remastered series, and apart from the controls, is very good.

jznrpg59d ago

I really enjoyed the first 2 games, Legend and the first of the reboots and the rest I didn’t get into so I never finished.

robtion59d ago

Completely subjective list. I really liked Underworld, I preferred Lara's design. That said I loved the horror/uncharted feel of the reboot. I think all the TR games have strengths and weaknesses. None are objectively better in every way.
